2nd Trimester

Baby vibrating??

Does anyone ever get a feeling like their baby is vibrating? Sometimes I get this feeling in my lower abdomen, that feels like a cell phone is vibrating in my tummy. It lasts for just a split second and then it's over. Is this baby? If so, do you know what exactly baby is doing? I know what kicks/punches and rolls feel like, but this isn't that.

  • I have never felt my LO "vibrating." If you are feeling some rumbles here and there I would assume that it is your digestive system. Things move a lot slower when you are pregnant. You probably just are experiencing some indigestion!

  • Yes. I feel vibrations lol. Doc said it is def baby. It's different then belly rumbles. I have an anterior placenta which might b part of it.

It's definitely not belly rumbles. I get those too, and this is a completely different kind of "vibrating" feeling.

  • Yeah I've felt it a couple of times too! Definitely baby, but it doesn't happen often or for long. I'd also love to know what that's all about!

  • Your baby probably has the hiccups. Since it's not a direct kick or punch it can feel as though the sensation is a vibration...

  • I've gotten that a couple of times.  I'm not sure what kind of movement it is but yes it can only be described as sudden vibrating.

  • I was just kind of curious. I always forget to put it on my list of questions when I go to the Dr, so I figured somebody on here had felt it too. It's definitely a strange feeling whatever it is.

hiccups feel very distinct- I feel like it could be baby stretching- the little wiggle after a stretch.   My oldest had hiccups everyday and even after birth for several days and it's just like you'd imagine- very rhythmic jiggle.

  • I actually just asked my doctor about this exact feeling yesterday... He said it's most likely the intestines being pushed up. Mine is right under my ribs in the middle, but I would guess you could feel it anywhere. He also said since everything is getting squished together in there, you'll feel a lot of things you wouldn't normally feel... Hope this helps!
