NBR: lawn care?

Do any of you use a service not only for mowing/trimming/etc, but for actually making your grass green (aerating, fertilizing, weeding, etc.)?

Our lawn is a dis.as.ter after having a newborn through the hottest summer on record. We need the pros to help us save it.

Any recs?

Dear Bump: You suck.

Re: NBR: lawn care?

  • We used Scott's Lawn Service a couple years ago and it was great. Finally got rid of all the weeds after years of pulling weeds. The grass also really came in nicely. Didn't use them last year because I figured it was a lost cause with the heat and not wanting to have a super $$$ watering. Totally regret because now I have a forest of weeds growing. I'm going to call them this week to set up service again. If you do end up using them, tell them I referred you and I think we both get a discount.

  • We had someone spread rye seed on the lawn of our old house and it grew in beautiful and green. Seed is cheap so that's always an option.
  • We use grass works and they're awesome. Feel free to email me on prices and things. Angelaggie at msn

Scotts is about 37-45. I'm going to try R e a l Gre en though, they're cheaper, offer more for the cost and are locally owned.
