i always thought babies could be independent for long stretches of time in baby swings. we have a nice swing, the fisher price little lamb, but DD rarely lasts more than 15 minutes before fussing and wanting to be held. how long does your LO last?
We have snugabug swing and it used to be a lifesaver but is no longer. He also will last like 15 minutes. He used to sleep in it but now will wake up after a few minutes if he is not tummy napping
My DD doesn't like her swing. We got a Graco Sweet Peace swing, which she doesn't enjoy at all. Really the only place she'll last for a while is her play gym on floor.
We have the Snuggabunny and she will stay hours if sleeping and maybe 20 minutes to half hr if she is awake. She generally loves her swing more than anything else and I don't know what I would do if she decided otherwise!
for us it just depends. she'll sit in there happily for 10 minutes in the morning so that I can eat breakfast. sometimes she'll nap in it for up to an hour, sometimes I barely get 5 minutes before she's screaming
Well she just slept 12 hours in hers. It's the only place she will sleep when she has her fussy days. We will try her in her crib again tomorrow since she sttn. She also takes naPs in her swing.... Pretty sure were gonna run the motor out on this thing! We have the starlight cradle n swing by fisher price

DS didn't start enjoying his swing until he was 6 weeks old. His record in there is an hour but his average is more like 20 mins, asleep or awake. It tends to calm him down when he's crying but doesn't want to be held, so even if he won't spend hours in it we're glad to have it!

My LO used to sleep in her swing for a couple hours, but now I'm lucky if she;ll stay in it for 15 minutes. Most of the time now, she'll be asleep when I put her in it, but wake up and start fussing as soon as I put her down in it.
My DS hated it at first. Now he will nap in there anywhere from a half hour up to 2 hours. Sometimes he likes being in it when he is awake and he will look at the mobile. If he is awake in it, I am sitting nearby so he can see me and the helps.

This exactly for my son. He's sleeping in there now.

I thought DS was just one of those babies that hated swings, but seems like he's more "normal" than I thought! He'll last 5-15 minutes awake in there, but mostly because he's watching the mobile move around on the Snugabunny swing. I barely put him in there though since he doesn't seem to like it.
Thankfully I bought it from a friend for $50 and it hasn't even lived up to that cost just yet.
Emmett will chill in his swing while I make dinner, clean, etc. If he is getting fussy and it's not hunger or a dirty diaper, the swing usually calms him down. He has napped in it for up to four hours before, but doesn't do that much anymore. We have the snugabunny.

DD loves her swing. She can last bout 45 minutes. Sometimes she falls asleep. I feel I have a very independent baby though. Sometimes when being held she will fuss until she is put down to have some "me" time.
It only works if DD is tired but calm already or mostly asleep, but she'll sleep in it for hours during the day. I burned out the motor in ours using the wrong voltage adapter (it plugs in, which was great) the first time I tried it (bought if from a friend of a friend) so it doesn't do anything fun except for swing a little bit if I put the batteries in it. It's the starlight papasan so it would have done all sorts of fun stuff and only swings a little bit on the highest setting with the batteries in it. She loves it, though!
