he's sleeping!

my child went to sleep tonight in his own crib by himself without crying. WHAT?!? its been 20 minutes since i laid him down and i'm still staring at the monitor in disbelief!

y'all i've been rocking him for HOURS at bedtime for a month or so, before caving and taking him with me to bed.

this is BIG. like really big.

we're on our 3rd night of no swaddle here and it's going pretty well! She started rolling in her sleep sack with sewed-shut-arms, so we moved to the regular sleep sack and now she rolls right over and sleeps on her tummy. we've had to go in 1-2 times each night when she gets stuck the wrong direction or up against the rails and can't figure out how to scoot away, but i think we're moving on up to the big-kid land of sleep.

Can't believe she lasted almost 9 months with that swaddle.

Purdue -- did i tell you we ditched the swaddle at Christmas?? he wasn't rolling but i just figured, we were getting closer to needing to ditch it so i just did it. he's a tummy sleeper now though. still gets pissed unswaddled on his back but will happily sleep on his tummy!
