Have you thought about strollers yet? Are you getting a double?
I had this big elaborate plan to buy a nice umbrella stroller and baby wear when I could and use two strollers (the umbrella and our travel system) when out with DH. I came up with this plan because I couldn't find a stroller I liked under $250 (the 2U2 board highly reccomends the City Select, but I cannot justify spending that much money when we don't go out much).
I just found the new Graco Ready2Grow stroller and it looks promising, especially at only $199. When I priced out a reclining umbrella and a double umbrella (for when baby is too big to wear), it comes out to pretty much the same amount.
Just wondering what everyone else is planning on doing.
Re: Pregnant ladies, come in!
Since we just use a stroller about 30 min per week now, unless we get a double for free (like as a hand-me-down), I don't think we will get one. I still wear DS almost every day. While I don't think I'll tandem wear a 19 mo old and a NB that much, I think the single stroller should do us fine because I can wear the NB and DS can ride or walk. I am open to changing my mind on it, but probably not until baby is here and I see if it is genuinely a need for us.
More Green For Less Green
Wait, I'm not pregnant......
Why did I come in. DAMNIT!!!!!!!
We have the Chicco tandem double stroller. I like it but it's bulky and I can count on one hand the times I've used it by myself. But I was never a big stroller user anyway. I prefer to baby wear until their big enough to ride in the cart. I still wear Emily frequently.
LMAO at both of you!
I'm going to keep my eye out for a used one. If that doesn't work out then I'll probably get a new one, one that is compatable with my car seat (baby trend).
Not pregnant so not sure why I opened this thread. LOL. I just wanted to say that stroller looks cool and I wish it were out when I was pregnant!
If you don't go out a lot, don't get a double. I didn't really use mine much, and I mostly SAH with my kids and we go out just about everyday. I got mine under $200 (the combi twin sport) so in that aspect I dont think it was a terrible investment and it has come in handy at times. However, if I were working I would have never gotten one. Like you say, DH can push one and you can push the other, one of you can wear/carry the baby and the other can push the single stroller, etc. As your LO gets closer to 2, likely she's not going to want to be in the stroller at all. The only time I actually use the stroller now is if I cant get him down for a nap so I take a walk to get both the kids to sleep.
