Trying to tighten up the belly

I hate all of this saggy, loose skin I have around my belly now. I am actually down below my pre-baby weight, but this loose skin makes me look like I have a major muffin top! I'm planning on starting back to the gym soon, but I wanted to know what sort of success you ladies had getting rid of this skin and how to do it.

  • I found with my first that time repaired a lot of the damage.

    Now my second Lo is one week old, I'm starting all over with saggy skin. Ugh.

    I'll start doing some stomach muscle exercises when I'm up to it, and beyond that let time do its thing.

  • I look at it as battle scars for mommyhood! Beyond a few tummy excercises and letting time fix it there's nothing I will do. This is what happens when you bear children. I almost killed my SIL when she told me that pregnancy isn't glamourous! Duh! Then you shouldn't have had kids. These things happen. I don't know how old your LO is but time does help.

  • Buy an ab workout dvd. I've also heard strengthening your core (vs. just abs) is the way to go right now, so the plank exercise is great for that. Cardio, weights, ab specific workouts, and eating really clean is the best strategy you can have. I hate it when people say tummy tuck-- while it may be true this is the only real option, I think you have to try everything first and give it TIME. Like, a year or two before you even consider that route.
