Has anyone else looked at the cribs that are on Bump's list of best cribs? One of them is a crib made of plastic or plexi or whatever you call it. That just seems totally bizarre to me. What do you think?

Re: Plexiglass Crib?!?
I saw it at one of our local baby stores. $3600. Hollis crib I believe. All I could think of is 1. It would look like your baby was being levitated, the picture I saw made it hard to see the crib. 2. Whoa, can you imagine what that would look like if lo ever became a poop painter. Yikes.
lol
That's the thing, it's a very expensive crib, or an inexpensive piece of plexiglass art. It will only look pretty in the picture, in real life you'll kill yourself trying to keep it clean.
We have a crib that is partially acrylic and I have never had any issues with keeping it clean. Obviously it isn't the entire crib, but it's the larger panels and it's never been a problem.
It doesn't seem practical to me - like pp I was thinking of poop painters at worst fingerprints and slobber at best (not that I don't get that things get dirty with kids, just that some things hide it better while others showcase it).
I can see it looking cool in a small space, but I don't understand how it's held together... Can you still see the hardware?
I think it's very unique for sure, but not my style. It might look cool in a super contemporary/modern house, maybe?
I just am thinking about how often I'd have to be cleaning fingerprints (and mouth prints) off that damn thing! Not to mention it doesn't look very cozy
I would never buy that. However, I wonder how rope lights or something like that would look and stimulate baby's visual senses, especially if they change colors. Almost like providing ambient lighting for baby? *shrugs* I will take my wood furniture anyday.
Also I can totally see me running into that thing in the middle of the night, but I'm a klutz.
