Military Families

Fort Riley, KS

I'm Corinne and my fiance' is stationed at Fort Riley. He is currently at NTC this month and leave in May for a 9 month deployment. We are getting married in the beginning of March when he gets back. Also, I just found out recently that I am pregnant. I'm due September 28th, which means my hubby will be gone for most of the pregnancy and will not be here when our baby is born. It upsets me that he won't be here, but I know he is doing what he needs to do to provide for our family and protect our country. I must say that I am a very proud Army fiance' and I cannot wait to marry my best friend and have our little Army baby. :)

Re: Fort Riley, KS

  • Congratulations!  How exciting for you guys!  We've been stationed here at Fort Riley for about 5 years now with two deployments a piece.  That's too bad that he'll miss most of your pregnancy.  That can't be easy.  :(  Good luck with everything though!

  • I have only been here a month as well. So far, I like it, but I do also missing everyone from back home in West Virginia. Also, Kansas is flat and I miss my beautiful mountain state. I am staying with a friend on post. My fiance' is at NTC this month which is hard not talking to him, but it gets me prepared for deployment. I'm just glad to be getting married when he gets back from NTC! He can be gone for deployment between 9 months to a year depending on if they decide to bring the troops out of Afghanistan. If they do decide to pull the troops out, then he will be gone an entire year so they can help with clean up. I'm kind of sad that he won't be here for the baby being born, but I know he is doing what he needs to do for our country and for our family.
