DH is a firefighter-which means he works 24 hours shifts his paternity leave ends tomorrow....and he has some renewal certifications coming up so on Tuesday he works the whole 24 then goes straight to a 9 hour class-leaving me with DD for 38ish hours all by myself which all of a sudden is a terrifying thought-if she contonues to fuss thru the night I don't know how I will manage...I try to sleep during the day when she does but I'm not very good at napping/day sleeping...my first 24 alone is tomorrow-eek
Re: nervous
I'm sorry, that situation does suck. Mine is not as bad, but DH works nights, which makes me nervous because I too suck at daytime napping, especially since DS has started sleeping longer stretches at night. He's still too young to want to be put down much at all because he's a light sleeper.
I did, however, get some instant coffee and sugary snacks in the house. They're my survival plan if DS gets too fussy/hungry to want to sleep at all. Maybe you could do the same, or you could ask a friend/family member if they'd mind dropping by that first day to give you a reprieve.
