your advice: stomach flu

OK, so this is not even close to baby related...but I'm in complete misery with the stomach flu and no amount of googling is giving me answers on what kind of meds I can take.  I don't have the energy to get up and find the nurse line phone number.

Everything I google is for sore throat, cough, conjestion, those aspects of the flu. Great, but I need to address my stomach.

So, recommendations? Have a favorite over the counter med to recommend?  M is picking up something for me after work, since there's no way I can get off this couch.

I just hope, hope, hope, I don't pass this virus on to her pregnant self...way scary stuff.

    I don't think there is anything you can take for the flu.  There are anti-vomiting and anti-diarrhea meds but you don't want those.  Get lots of rest, sip 7up and broth if you can, maybe try unsalted crackers.  Drink plenty of fluid so you don't get dehydrated.

    Yeah, there's really not a lot you can do.  If you absolutely need to get out of the house (for a meeting, or something)- there's Immodium.  Honestly, it just needs to run it's course :(  Feel better, soon!

    What you need to google is gastroenteritis (stomach flu.) I had it while pregnant (about as far a long as you are) and I called my doc's office in a panic. I honestly can't remember what they told me since I called at 1am between bathroom visits (and well, it was 6y ago), but they told me it was common and gave me parameters in which to call back. It was miserable. I am so sorry you are going through that.

    Thanks all.  You're right--there's nothing out there to make it better.  I just keep saying, "How can it be this bad? There's nothing I can take!??"  But, that's the way it is sometimes.  Was able to sleep last night, so I'm hoping this is a turning point...
