Birth control before ttc

Hi ladies,

I had my yearly check up today everything looks good and i brought up how i wanted to ttc in the next few months and he brings up going back on the pill for  2- 3 months and then trying. I havent been on the pill since i got pregnant with my dd.

Anyone try this and get pregnant quicker?

My OB said if i went on the pill for a few months it would help my chances at getting pregnant quicker.

    How so? Because it would make you more regular?

    Seems like an annoyance if you ask me. I never went back on cause I was BF and I still got pg even though I'm BF even still.

    I wouldn't go on it for such a short amount of time. The hormones always with me and I get sick for at least the first two months. Of course, I say this, yet it's exactly what I did. I was on the BCP for 4 months before going off it to TTC. It was definitely not planned that way though, as we hadn't originally planned on having our LOs so close together. Anyways... if it's only going to be 2-3 months, I'd just stick with condoms.

    I have always been told it is usually harder to get pregnant the month or two after you get off birth control but I have never talked to a doctor about it. I am wondering why he says this?

    I personally wouldn't do it. But the last time I got off birth control the year before our wedding I only had 3 periods in 12 months. My body takes it's time regulating after major changes.

    I don't see the point for you either though. Personally I'd just stick with condoms too especially since you've stated before that you aren't too worried if you do get pregnant before your wedding. Plus I hate taking that stupid pill everyday.

    I dont have any problems being regular he described it to me as if i take birth control it tells my body not to release eggs and then after you quit taking the pill your body goes crazy releasing eggs it was a very interesting story!

    I dont like taking the pills i always got headaches so i was always on the lowest kind and i got pregnant on the pill last time.
