After a long 2 year struggle with IF and working with a Re we were able to achieve pregnancy. Then I was considered high risk due toa dydelphic (double uterus) the at shared one cervix. I actaully had a pretty normal pregnancy with no issues other that uterus anomally and the doctors kept telling me due to that condition that I would probably deliver early and they had no idea how early.
Well on January 23 at 4:15 am my water broke (36 weeks and 4 days gestation) and we headed to the hospital an hour away. They wanted me to come right in due to the abnormal uterus, water breaking and I tested posative for strep B.I was admitted and then delt with the most horrible back labor for 31 hours and the epi/pain meds did not work! after 31 hours of this torture baby went into distress and was born via emergency c-section on January 24th. The I was told that due to the way my uterus' met withthe cervix that there was no way I could ever deliver vaginally - so any others will be schedled sections as well.
He was a very healthy late pre term baby weighing in at 5 lbs 12 oz. He was evaluated in the NICU for 2.5 hours then brought to us...he was 5 hours old before we were able to hold him, but he was healthy and we had already waited almost 3 years to meet our baby, it was so worth it! He is a perfect little man! We had about a week stay in the hospital b/c he had some high levels of jaundice from bruising when he was stuck in my birth canal and then I had issues with post partum pre-eclamsia, but we are all home and doing great now. DH has been wonderful through it all and never left my side. He stayed at the hospital with me the whole time and has really taken right to being a dad and helping with everything.
I am still in aw and just can't be;ieve that after all this time, testing, IF treatments and high risk appointments that our baby boy is here with us! At times it felt as though everyone else in the world was either pregnant or had thier baby and no one else understood what we were going through tryin got have our own. These boards have been so helpful in finding suppert from other woman struggeling with similar issues from IF. Good luck to all in getting pregnant and a happy healthy 9 mots to a healthy wonderful baby!
