I've met too many realtors...and now I can't pick one. Decision paralysis strikes again. I've met several of the ones people suggested here and a couple others but now I can't decide
I don't even know anymore what is important and what's not. I'm just frustrated with myself and needed to vent. But any input is appreciated
Re: How do I choose a realtor? (and self vent)
As a Realtor (not currently practicing), your best bet would be to pick someone you get along with but has a strong business/work ethic. All agents have the same info at their fingertips, it just depends on what they do with it, if anything. If you have any specific questions Id be happy to answer, you can email me findyourwayhomeinaustin at gmail dot com.
Good luck!
we went with someone that "specialized" in our hood/area. he was nice enough, but really business oriented, so not touchy feely.
go with who you feel has your best interest in mind and that might not be someone you want to hang out on the weekends with.

This was our approach. We went with someone that had been recommended to us by 2 ppl, and was also very familiar with the area we were looking into.
I also had a few other things on my list:
- I want to feel like I was going to be priority for them.
- How they walk the homebuyer through the process, explaining options, and really trying to help me maximize my investments
- Knowledge of older homes and what to watch out for (ours was built in the 1940s) - I knew i wanted an older home, and it was so helpful that she knew about the foundations, characteristics of these houses, and how to detect hidden costs, etc in the houses. I think this comes with years of experience. . .
- Availability to show houses/respond quickly - in the area that we buy in (central), the good houses for the best value get offers so quickly. I wanted someone that as soon as the MLS popped up, I could have someone show me the house immediately. If I wasn't available, I wanted them to be able to preview the house and tell me if it was a waste of time or not.
- I was getting into real estate investing, and I wanted someone who shared that passion and hopefully share those experiences/lessons learned/contacts with me (ours has 20+ yrs experience in this area as part of her personal portfolio)
