We got our estimated bill for my OB to deliver my baby. Assuming its a standard vaginal delivery, it'll cost us $3,600, of which insurance pays 80%. We'll end up paying 500 if all goes according to plan (ha...ha). It's $4,200 for a c-section.
I'm curious what other people's OBs are charging?
Edit: This doesn't include what the hospital charges. Who knows what that will be!
Re: How much does your OB charge?
I honestly have no idea. All I know is I should be covered at 100% after my deductible for the hospital stay, which is $1500 (ugh).
Oh, I just looked at my insurance treatment estimator, and they state $2815 as the professional fee for my doctor for both vaginal and C-section. It does state it's just an estimate and actual feels may be higher or lower.
(The total with hospital stay is estimated to be $6300-$8300 for vaginal and $8300-$10,300 for c-section).

My OB charging $1750 to deliver my twins vaginally. I am not sure what that fee goes to if the delivery ends up being a c-section. Of course, that doesn't include the anesthesiologist, hospital, etc. That's just his fee.
My deductible is $750 and my insurance covers 80% after that, so I will end up paying just over $900 (if they behave and come vaginally).

What's annoying about my OB's office is they JUST sprang this on me yesterday and said I have to start paying it now and have it fully paid by my 30th week...I'm big on planning and budgeting so to spring this up on me now was a bit odd to me. I thought it was something I would get billed for after the fact along with the hospital bill...
Some doctors don't give that out until the end or closer to delivery, regardless, maybe your insurance covers it all or a good portion of it. The delivery charge was about $2500, not including hospital stay. My insurance covers all of it, but pays out 80% of the hospital stay. I know the total cost of the hospital stay was waaaayy more than $2500.
WTF?!?! That's some awesome insurance you have there!
I just looked up my claims from DS2's birth - planned c/s
hospital bill was $17653
Anesthesiology - $1550
OB - $3,461
I paid $100 totally for everything.
Mine benefits aren't quite as good this time around, so hopefully I won't need the c-section or be there for so long.
