I've told a few family and friends but not coworkers so I've maintained strict internet silence. I made it all the way to 17 weeks before a coworker asked.
Ready to talk cribs? We bought the DaVinci Roxanne crib for C and it has been great. We especially love the under-bed drawer. Right now it is in daybed mode and the toddler loves it. The current plan is to squeeze two kids into one bedroom for at least the first year because rental prices in San Diego are crazy and we love our current place.
It looks like Roxanne is no longer available. I was looking on Amazon and there are only a couple of options with underbed drawers? What gives? Is that just not as popular as it was?
Re: Hi Seattle! I'm preggo! Cribs Q:
First off CONGRATS!!!!
When we had our 2nd he slept by the side of our bed for at least the first 6 months then moved him to the crib, by that time our daughter was in her own bed.... I do have say though.. I was not to sure about a toddler bed, but I think my daughter did a lot better with a toddler bed then going from her crib to a twin bed!!!
I hope this helps ya out a little!!!
Best of Luck!!
Congrats!!
I personally would think about moving C into a twin or toddler if you can't fit a twin, and let baby have the crib. How old will he be when baby is born, I am guessing around 3.5? We moved M to his twin right at 3 years old when I was pg with W. It was a great time for him to move up, and be the "big" brother. Especially since he is already used to a toddler bed, it should be an easy transition, and cheaper then buying another crib/mattress.
Steal my kids picture or pretend they are yours, I will find where you live and ship all of their dirty diapers to your doorstep. Promise.
Perhaps I should have mentioned that my (awesome) MIL is going to come down to help out. We're planning on getting a twin bed for her when she stays with us. In 6 months to a year that bed can go to C.
We will need to get a mattress for that bed eventually but I'd like to wait until May or June. I see that Costco has twins for under $500. Has anyone bought a mattress from Costco?
Congratulations! Could you put baby in your room in a pack-n-play or bassinet for the first few months while your MIL is there, then move C to the twin when she leaves and baby in the crib?
We just moved DS who will be 3 in March to a big boy bed and got his mattress at Costco. They beat anyone else on price by a mile and it seems like a good mattress.
We just bought the twin trundle bed at Costco last weekend along with a mattress. It's great! Firm, yet soft. I bought a cheap one in the past from elsewhere and it was rock hard. We haven't bought the trundle mattress yet, but will do so at Costco.
