I am not breastfeeding and I stopped bleeding completely after my Section last week..LO is a month old tomorrow.

When did you get your first period? What to expect??

every body is different. For my first pp period, I felt like I was dying a slow death with the amount of blood. Mine didn't return until 7m pp, but I was EPing. I was glad that I had some of my RX motrin left over to take because of the cramps. I told MH that I felt like my ute was going to fall out.

Mine returned about a month or so after I stopped pumping and seriously it was the most painful, nasty period i've ever had. The cramps were very heavy and the blood flow was INSANE, probably for the first 3 or so periods! I actually bled through my pants at work when it came back, and was changing my tampon every hour. At night I slept with a tampon and a pad and still bleed through my pants onto the sheets.

There is such a wide range of normal for this -- I was breastfeeding full time (my baby never got any formula and was really late to the game with solids) and I got my first pp period at about 8 months.

I am sure that everyone is different. I got my first period when my LO was six weeks old. I also noticed that it was much heavier than my periods had ever been before pregnancy.

I EBF'd and my period returned at 6-7mo pp with DS1 and DS2... right after I introduced solid foods.

With my first I was not BFing and it came back at 6 weeks, and it was extremely light, and stayed that way for the next 2 years, even though I wasn't on BC. I had PMDD before, so super heavy periods and massive cramps, and it all went away after I had my first. I hope it doesn't come back after this one!

I dont think I have had a real PP period yet. I bled just a lil for 3 days...I didnt have a terrible one so maybe its coming? I am not BF anymore either. I stopped a month ago.

it came exactly one day after my six week checkup. it was slightly heavier as they all have been since before baby but nothing to freak about

My first came when I was a little over 5 weeks pp and yes I thought I was dying because of the blood flow! No one told me about that!

I started birth control after my 6 week appointment (on a Sunday) and got my first period 11 weeks pp...3 days after the last pill. It was a normal period for me.

I got mine 12 weeks PP and I was an exclusive pumper. My other 2 friends who pumped for a year go theirs after they stopped pumping, everyone is different for sure.
