It's my birthday, and I'm about to go to a meeting and eat some cupcakes. So I have nothing to show for myself, but that's OK
Tell us about your week!
QOTD: Do you have a healthy outside-of-your-normal-budget food that you treat yourself to on special occasions, like fresh berries or lobster? What's your favorite cheap healthy food buy?

Happy Birthday!!! Enjoy the cupcakes
As for me I got nothing
I really like to jog outside but it's still really ugly out. Hoping the weather gets better soon. But I do try to eat healthy
QOTD
We use the same buget for all food and I like the bag salads they are $2 and come with everything you need.

Well, being sick is good for one thing. Not being very hungry. Sadly, I don't think it has made a difference. Last night I stopped at Chic-fil-a (both of us are sick as $hit and could not muster up the energy for cooking dinner) and I only ate 1 chicken tender before I was full.
QOTD: We buy off season fresh fruit - mainly for the kids lunches. I have been known to pay $8 for a quart of strawberries mid-winter (thankfully, we have found them much cheaper this season.) They aren't awesome, but the kids like them and it gives variety from apples/applesauce/grapes. I buy Lean Cuisines and the like for myself. I think they are way over priced and try to stock up when they are on sale, but sometimes you just need a quick 5m cooked meal.
Happy Birthday!!
I'm comming off of a brief affair with cheesecake, and fries, and wine, and chocolate
ugh, i really need to find a better way to deal with stress. Anyway, I'm back to tracking and making good choices.
QOTD: We are pretty generous with our food budget for healthy, organic, whole foods. The splurges are for the not really healthy but low in points treats like skinny cow ice cream or weight watchers products. but i try not to get those too often. My fave cheap healthy food is stocking up at the farmers markets in the summer! There is a farmer with a stand that is walking distance from our house and he has the most amazing corn for $2/dozen. cant beat that!

happy birthday!
i ate an entire bag of Sweethearts yesterday, so you can guess how my week is going
I really need to work on this.
QOTD: We're pretty generous with our food budget as well. I don't really buy "diet" food though. I splurge on butter and cheese. a lot.
One good thing about the 2ww is that it has inspired me to try a little harder. i went to the gym two days so far this week, and have been eating a bit better. We stocked up on produce at TJ's last weekend and have been dutifully going through it.
Happy Birthday Leap, I hope you enjoyed your cupcakes.
I consider out-of-season raspberries a healthy expensive treat. For snacky food, snap pea crisps or TJ's low guilt pita chips. We've also been trying to buy a bit more organic which costs more, and may join a CSA for the summer. For cheap.... Bananas? Popcorn kernals?

Cautiously optimistic.
Happy birthday!
I've gained back 2 of the pounds I lost from stress last week but that means I'm still down 3lbs from my original weight! I plopped the little girls in the stroller last Friday and we all walked a mile to visit J at work, it was a great walk and not too far for Iz, I think we will visit her more often.
QOTD: I usually buy groceries with everyone but myself in mind so I pretty much always skip getting vegetarian products for myself (patties, sausages, chick'n, etc.) but when J grills I will ask her to pretty please pick up veggie patties/sausages for me. My favorite cheap healthy food has to be fresh produce from the farmers market.

Happy Birthday, Leap!
Status report: I was pleasantly surprised/shocked that I hadn't gained more weight while away, but I guess the walking (2-5 miles most days) helped. I need to stick with that, increase activity level or cut back on some things to make sure it sticks. Still vegan though and trying to watch
QOTD: For healthy outside-of-your-normal-budget food that you treat yourself to: recently Larabars (most flavors) and Bobo's Oat Bars (Coconut flavor). Both vegan, gluten-free and sweet (I was off refined sugar for months and while Bobo's have brown rice syrup, Larabars don't have any sugars). I need to cut back on these moreso the Bobo's, but they're delicious.
What's your favorite cheap healthy food buy? Top two are fruit and popcorn. For fruit, while t's not always cheap, especially since we stick with organic for most if not all and I try to buy local and in season, but regardless it's well worth it. For popcorn, I use organic kernels and a bit of coconut oil, then serve plain, with a spray of EVOO and dash of salt (for C), or a spray of EVOO and my crazy mix of nutritional yeast, kelp flakes and sometimes spices like cayenne. Yummy!
