in 2nd Trimester

So my mom wants to throw me a shower on May 12th. I'm due June 4th.

Do you think that's cutting it too close?

It was the only date that seemed to work so that important family members/friends would be able to attend.

    It depends on the person, but I would say yes, because you might be uncomfortable at that point. My family is throwing mine in April. That way it give sme time to set everything up, and organize.

    I'd mention to her that it is getting a bit close and see if you can push it back. but if you can't.....then not much you can do unless you dont want one.

    Besides, you'll still be so tiny by then Smile

    A little. Do you have to travel? I'm due June 2nd, and I don't plan on moving outside of my hospital's vicinity beginning the first weekend in May.

    I would think that would be cutting it a little close!  If that's your only choice you could of course make it work, it just doesn't seem like the ideal time.  Just talk with your mom and see what you can work out :)

    My shower is April 21st and I have gotten several due dates from May 5th-May 19th .. I count to the 19th but it could be anytime before then.

    If you feel OK with it, then do it. I'm sure I'll be uncomfortable but when are you not when you're pregnant?! lol

    And PS to the OP: your LO is due on my birthday ;] that's a good day!!

    I agree! With dd I only had a month between and that wasn't enough time.

    I'm due June 4th as well and I will have yo travel for both my showers (my mom is planning one and MIL is planning one).  They both live 3.5 hours away, in opposite directions.  We are planning to have the showers in April.  I told them after that people are going to have to come to me...  If you aren't traveling, you might be fine then.

    Yes. I think that is a little close. Besides you want to know what you are getting so you are not rushed at 8 months pregnant getting the remainder of baby items!. Its not fun to shop when you can barely walk.
