DD loves to eat her ba-bas and i'm thinking she's ready to try some rice cereal. I wanted to wait till after 4months but she seems ready now. Plus she spits up a ton so i'm thinking maybe she'd keep cereal down better?

Re: Who's starting cereal soon or who has started already?
oh wow, for any particular reason?
I'd be so happy if DD spits up less w/ solids. The pedi. did mention that we could start solids at 4months when we went for her 2m visit.
I remember DS not liking rice cereal but he did like oatmeal better.
We have been trying some bananas with Natalie. She seems to like them even though most of it ends up on her face.
I guess her pedi said he was big enough too..
oh no, bronchiolitis. DS had that at 4months too! Hope he feels better soon.
Thanks so much for the kind wishes! I think he is on the mend today...
Sounds like my DD. i can't tell you how many bibs/clothes etc. that we all go through during the day. I'm hoping the end of spit up is in sight soon!
Our pedi recommended waiting until she was 5.5-6 months old. We will try oatmeal cereal then. I'm not in any rush to start.
With DS we started right at 4 months and he did great on oatmeal cereal.
you give your baby that much regular milk??
Thia exactly.
This is what we're doing.
This for us, too, except we probably won't start with veggies and fruits. Public Health unit says that new research suggests that iron is super-important and to use iron-fortified cereals or other iron-rich foods like beef, chicken, tofu, egg, etc. to start.

Oh, tofu is a good option! I forgot about that. I think lentils are a good first food too. Especially if you want to do purees, since you can get them the same texture and they have a TON of iron.
We've already started with rice cereal per our pedi. I think since our little guy is so small they want him to be good and ready to really start eating solids by the time 6mths rolls around. That combined with his somewhat mild case of reflux I think made the recommendation simple.
So far, he takes very little of it, but he starting to swallow it. In some ways it's been helpful - I'm having serious supply issues (you name it, I've tried it, trust me) and was going to run out of my fairly large freezer stash within weeks. We're mixing the cereal with formula and it's actually getting him used to the taste of it, which has made introducing a BM/formula mix at bedtime much easier.
