Updated Birth Story..PIP of the boys.

Where to start...I went to the Dr on Jan 31, I was feeling a very strong urge to poop.  Dr set me on NST and the boys looked great.  My blood pressure had been crawling and she told me if I didn't go into labor tonite, they would induce in the morning.  The twins were full term for multiples and they felt we were in the safe.

We arrived at the hospital at 7am to prepare for a vaginal twin birth. It all went so quick.  They hooked me up to an IV and got everything rolling.  I was checked and was already dilated to 4, 100% effaced.  They started Pitocin and I was told we should be pushing by 2-3 pm.  I got my epidural and the pain was suddenly doable.  By 2pm I was dilated to 8 and they started to get my husband and sister dressed in scrubs to get ready to PUSH.   The contractions were 2 minutes apart and I started to feel them again.  They needed to give me more epidural because the Dr and nurses were confused as to if I had a push drip...I DID NOT.  OUCH!

They quickly called anesthesia and came down to give me MORE!!!  That was insane dilated to 10 and full on contractions with no working meds...To much!!!  Finally it kicked in and everyone apologized for the misunderstanding.  The Dr was so angry I heard her bawl them out.  I pushed for a half hour, still with that overwhelming feeling to poop out something fierce.  However baby B's heart rate was going up and down and they wanted me to decide between delivering baby A vaginally and B c-section.  I said just get them out at this point.

I decided to do a c-section for both.  Within 45 minutes I was wheeled into OR and the surgery had begun.  I was scared, but they go over every single action with you.  My husband was by my side and it was over before I knew it...not bad at all.  The prior 30 min of pushing and pain was way worse for me.

On feb 1 at 6:24 Eoin Andrew was born, a minute later Finnegan James was here.  I got to see them and hear them.  Eoin was 5.13 and Finn was 5.10 at birth weight.  They scored 9 on apgar's!  They were beautiful and I bawled.   I got to kiss them both and my husband and babies were off to the nursery to get cleaned up and show off to all my family and friends who were at the hospital.

Everyone is healthy and happy and we all went home 3 days later.  They are beautiful and I wear a permanent smile!   All I could think is...so this is love?!!?

I hope all of you ladies have a uneventful delivery, it all comes down to having healthy babies in your arms.   Suddenly how they arrived doesn't even matter.
