i am hoping some of you can stop me from having a complete breakdown at work. i am doing my 1st iui hopefully soon. i am not sure if it's the hormones but i am super emotional, the nurse said that my amh level was .34 which i know is just shitty! i am spending so much money on this and am just wondering what the point is if my levels are crappy. i jsut want to know that some of you had bad b/w results and still got pregnant
Re: question from ttc >35 re:amh
My AMH was .62 in June and .91 in September. We tried IUI one time and it was a fail, but the RE recommended IVF b/c of DOR.
Hope there are others that have had an IUI with low AMH that can come on here! **hugs**
PAIF and SAIF welcome. IVF questions welcome, too.

11/19/11 - we have a heartbeat! Get comfy, baby! Baby girl born 7/12/12, she's perfect!
i think your age is working more against you rather than your AMH.
mine was .22 in july and id just turned 32....am now almost 30 weeks pregnant with twins from clomid. age is usually the #1 factor...
I had an AMH of .54 and got pregnant on my first Clomid/IUI cycle!!!!
I also had elevated FSH and was a Fragile X grayzone carrier that resulted in Dimminished Ovarian Reserve. It can happen!!! RE gave us less than a 10 percent chance and we got pg on our first cycle. He had even "recommended" we go straight to IVF! Man, am I glad that we didn't!!!! It would have been $15k instead of $600. I give all the credit to God, though. I said alot of prayers and had alot of people praying for me.
Edit - There is a DOR/POF board/forum on the internet and another support forum on fertility friend. There are alot of ladies on these forums who have gotten pregnant with horribly high FSH levels and low, low AMH levels - some of them on their own without even using IF treatment but just doing supps/diet changes and/or chinese medicine. And many of them just through the use of IUI. It is possible.

That is a decent AFC. I think mine was 9 the cycle I got my BFP through IUI. I've heard 10 is "normal" for a woman in her mid-30's so 8 isn't too far off from that.
And my FSH the cycle I got my BFP was 6.3, too, although I had previously had a 13.3. FSH is so variable that it doesn't really mean much, IMO.
I think you have a good shot!

That's still considered a pretty decent AFC for cycling and your fsh is great. My AFC was only 4-5 when checked, which was on the borderline of "you don't have a chance in he!!" Try not to let the AMH number get you down too much.
My AMH was .59 and I just got pregnant with a follistim + IUI. I have had quite a few early losses though as well. In total I have done 2 IUI's and 2 rounds of IVF.
In the last few months I have been doing acupuncture and taking omega 3 and co-q 10. DH has been taking supplements as well due to his MFI. I don't know if that helped or not, but I figured it was worth a try.
Of course, I am only 5w3d along and I haven't had my 1st u/s yet, so I don't know how things are going to go, but I am trying to stay positive.
Good to hear!
I really think AFC is a far better predictor than AMH. I will also add that my DH and I have done a TON of reading and researching on FSH, AMH, AFC, etc. We have come to the conclusion that even thought AMH is touted by the medical professional to be the new "wonder" test, it really isn't. It hasn't been used that long (and thus there isn't as much research on it as other tests) and I've seen and heard of too many stories where women get tested one time and have a very low AMH and are tested a few months later and it is up significantly (or vice versa) even though it is supposed to be constant and only decrease...and I've read of many, many stories of women having verly low AMH's (sometimes even undectable) but still getting pg. I'm becoming increasingly skeptical of AMH as a predictor of anything. My conclusion is completely dismissed by my RE (and probably most physicians out there) but I also think he just goes by what the generally accepted medical practice is and I doubt that he has spent the hours and hours pouring over medical journal articles and research that my DH and I have. IMO, it seems like AFC and age are far, far better predictors of pregnancy success than AMH. And your AFC is really pretty good so I think you have every reason to be hopeful!
