My DS will be four wks tomorrow. He refuses to sleep anywhere other than on me during the day, which half of me loves but it's crippling! This is of course the only time I have to fold laundry, jump start dinner, shower, make phone calls or do paperwork. If I put him down (in swing, crib, PnP), he's up within 10 minutes. It would be so nice to be able to poop without him crying for me!
Re: Unable to put 1 mo old down for naps...anyone?
A sling or a baby carrier would probably work very well for you.
My LO usually naps in his bouncy seat with the vibration on full blast plus a paci. He falls asleep in my arms and I put him in the seat and pop the paci in and even when he wakes up he stays in it....course as I finish typing this he is crying for me :P Gotta go!
I ordered a Moby wrap this morning! Hoping it helps!!! I've tried the bouncy too - be tried everything...every place, with vibration and without, with womb sounds and without, with classical music or white noise on quietly or on loudly and without it at all, swaddled and not swaddled....he's like glue! Lol. I'll miss this when he won't let me snuggle him, but in the here & now it's not working too well. Come on, Moby!!!
DD2 was the same way the first month. She would only sleep on me or in the bouncer with her binky. By 5 weeks she would also sleep in the swing. At 6 weeks we spent a weekend in the hospital (she lost weight due to feeding issues) and they had a crib that was at a 25 degree angle, and they took a rolled up sheet and made a little U shape with it, covered it with a thin blanket and she rested in that with her butt at the bottom of the U and she slept beautifully for naps and at night. So when we got home I put a pillow under her mattress at one end, took a king size sheet, folded it a few time then rolled it up and put one of those waterproof blankets over it and she's napping right now in her crib! She also sleeps 6-8 hours at night. It's a beautiful thing! I would highly recommend it, at least until LO is old enough to roll.
Also she's always swaddled when napping or sleeping
It sounds insane, but my LO has been rolling onto his side somehow since he was a week old, otherwise I'd be all over this suggestion!!
My husband has a little better luck with it than I do....I'm guessing because I nurse and I'm with him 24/7 since conception??? Maybe by the time we get back to work things will be better and I'm also hopeful that it won't ebbe the same for his babysitter!

I am trying the U blanket in DD's crib, but hadn't heard to put the butt on the bottom of the U. Should I be putting her feet/legs over the bottom part of the U? That seems like it might help with her gas issues too.
Yes! My toddler was the SAME way when he was that age....it was exhausting. I got a moby and my whole world changed
You will LOVE it!
