Re: *~*TTC Check In!*~*

  • Update- I moved myself back to meds, I'm going to start taking Femara again.  I'm pretty positive my endo is back and I think it's pretty bad.  I read that Femara can help with all the toxic chemicals that endo releases (therefore killing eggs, sperm, embryos, basically everything) so I thought that would be best (Seeker's been hounding me about taking it anyway). Started spotting this morning.  I made my annual appt with Dr S for next month, which will be a year since my miscarriage and d&c, so we can figure out what's next. I honestly don't have any hope of getting pg until I have another surgery, but we'll see what Seeker says next month. GL everyone!

  • DH finally dropped off his semen analysis which will give us the green light to start the Clomid again. Hope to start that next month.
  • Currently on day 6 of my period.  I'm *really* hoping that it only lasts a week or 2.  I have my annual with Dr S at the end of the month and I'm really hoping that I can convince DH to go with me so Dr S can convince him to start treatments again.

  • This is cycle 2 for us in TTC #2. I thought this was our month, however AF played tricks on me. Just waiting on O now. I am temping this month for the first time. Good luck to you ladies this month.
  • Go ahead and move me from "On Hold" to the "Trying" list!  Though, I'm thinking I might be out of town this month during the O time. That'll be my luck.:)
  • DH dropped the bomb that based on his impending birthday next week, he may be too 'old' for a second child.  After a year of trying, he now decides this.  We're not on good speaking terms at the moment, so I guarantee this month isn't our month. :)

  • nothing new to report here.... still cycling.  Our actual transfer is tomorrow so by this point tomorrow I'll be pregnant until proven otherwise.  I'm trying not to let myself get excited or hopeful-- although I'm sure this not working won't be nearly as hard as what I've been through I still think I will be crushed.  I hate infertillity.

Good luck ladies-- especially those having to resort to treatments or drugs.  I'm right there with you and it just seems so daunting.

  • Good luck with the transfer agran!

During the past week I have spent a lot of time obsessing and researching this new CF drug. I found out that I cannot participate in the clinical trial because I am "too healthy" but, my insurance claims they will cover the med off-label if my doctor prescribes it for me! This is huge because the head of CF foundation said it was too expensive for off-label use ($294K per year!!!). I already know of two people who have gotten it covered off-label, so there is hope. I have a check-up next week and my doctor is going to talk to me about this at that time - he needs to call the drug manufacturer to get the test tube results of the med on my genotype. If they are good, then he may be willing to write a prescription. I also spent some time on the phone with Dr. Hale's infant risk center and Dr. Hale himself looked at the drug info. They said it should be safe to take during pregnancy, but I'm still nervous because I don't think anyone ever has. I'm going to need to talk to doctors about this some more (if my CF doc decides to prescribe it).

Total tangent, but it is so, so awesome to be in touch with the people who are getting the drug (both adults with CF and parents of children with CF). They are shaking and crying tears of joy when they get their prescriptions filled. Even people working at the pharmacies have cried.

As far as other TTC goes, DH is suddenly chomping at the bit to get the show on the road. I'm getting re-tested for my TSH level next week, and if the results are good, he wants me to think about weaning DD by the end of March so we can start IUIs in April. I'm still on the fence, though. I am just so not looking forward to jumping back into fertility treatments and I don't mind trying on our own for a few months.

  •  gl bride! Seeker's a true gem so I hope he's right and gets you going onto another BFP.

will you add me to the list please?

Dh and I have been doing this biggest loser type of *challenge* not to lose weight but for a healthier lifestyle (trying to win the jackpot at the end!) It's getting us to eat super healthy and exercise everyday so I'm hoping, crossing every finger and toe, eyeball, you name it that this will help ttc and staying pregnant. So far I've had the easiest, most normal cycle EVER on this healthy kick of ours.

  • GL everyone!

Update: We're in the 2ww. Other than that, not much to update. Timing wasn't great this month so we'll see.
