Is anyone planning on trying for a VBAC or has done one in the past? I'm torn on finding a practice that allows them and trying or just going with a scheduled C-Section for this pregnancy.
History, I was in labor for 22 hours with DD and she didn't descend enough for me to dilate past 5 cm. My water had broke so I was coming up at the 24 hour mark and was in pain and exhausted so they did a c-section after trying multiple things. So it's not like I haven't experienced labor, but I didn't experience the birth part that said, the c-section was not bad and I recovered very quick.

I will not. I briefly considered it b/c I know I'm a really good canidate for one (schedule c b/c she was breech).
However, my hospital doesn't do them so I would have to find a new hospital and new Ob practice (and I love my doctors). I also find a small relief in knowing this will be scheduled again and we can plan accordingly with DD (we don't have any family that lives by us).
and honestly, I had a really good experience and quick recovery the first go around. I'm really ok w/ repeat c-section.
I will be trying for one. I discussed it with my OB prior to becoming pregnant and she was fine with it. I asked to be induced with my DS and ended up with a c-section. I feel like I never let my body do what it knew how to, and since this will be it for us, I'd like to experience labor, and delivery, the way nature intended.
I had a similar experience to you, OP. 41 hours of non-progressing labor with a broken bag of waters. I also only dilated to 5 cm, and we both developed an amniotic infection. But even after all of that, I still have this need to try. I have appointments set with an OB specializing in VBAC and I am going to go to some local ICAN meetings.
I really want to give this a go, but if my water breaking is the first sign of labor again, I will probably opt for a c/s. While I really want to try for a VBAC, I don't want to go through that labor experience again!
GL, OP! Whatever decision you make, know that it is the right one for you!
