Eeek! Baby is measuring 39 wks.

Had an u/s at my appt today and all of baby's measurements put him/her at 39+ wks. The OB said that I should definitely expect another 9+ lb baby. Measures at 8 lbs right now. Part of me hopes that I will go into labor soon, but part of me really wants LO to keep cooking and wants a couple more weeks to prepare. DD has surgery for tubes tomorrow and my job is in total chaos so I would feel horrible about leaving on mat leave early. Oh well, nothing I can do about it either way. I guess I was just surprised because at 20 wks LO was measuring right on track and all my fundal measurements have been right on or a little small.

    Were you measured by ultrasound, or just with a tape measure? The tape measure can be way off depending on the position of the baby. At 35 weeks, I was measuring 38 weeks via tape measure, but at the ultrasound I was only measuring a week ahead. Now I'm 37 weeks, measuring at 38 via tape measure. I know that my baby isn't going to be tiny, but I wouldn't put too much stock in to the measurements if it's just by tape measure.

    Eh, DD always measured tiny and was over 8 lbs., this guy  is measuring ahead (40 weeks as of right now) and I am putting no stock in it.  Those estimates are just that-- estimates.

    The first sentence says she had an u/s. 

    If it were me, I'd be excited!  I think big babies are SO CUTE!!!
