Dallas-Fort Worth Babies

any opinion on Dallas-area birthing centers?

Hi all,

I'm a first-time mom-to-be and am interested in a birthing center over a hospital delivery (not quite brave enough to go the at-home route).  Any recommendations or opinions out there?

I'm due in September and have an OB in New Orleans where I currently live, but I'm moving to Dallas in March...I have some time to look around, but any guidance is much appreciated!

Thanks!!

  • I love the people at the Allen Birthing Center. I didn't get to birth there because I was high risk but we took our Bradley Class there and I was just really impressed with everyone I met.

  • Depends on what part of town you are going to be in. I know there is one in Grand Prairie, and Keller also.

  • Allen Birthing Center is a-mazing! Kathleen of Bella Births is awesome as well. I've met Dinah of Lovers Lane Birth in Richardson but I have never seen her as a patient.

  • We went to the Allen Birth Center and I cannot sing them enough praise. I love all the mid-wives (front desk people, too). I didn't get to actually birth there since I didn't dilate past 4, but I did labor there for a few hours and it was so much more comfortable than the hospital. I've heard of others in Richardson and Garland as well.
