what tv shows must i watch that are on netflix?

What is this Downtown Abbey everyone talks about?  Can I stream it on netflix (we don't do the mail discs)?  What other shows can I stream on netflix that are awesome?

I'm almost finished with the third season of Breaking Bad.

    YES.  You can stream Downton Abbey.  I watched the entire 1st season last weekend.  I highly recommend it!

    Yes, you can stream the 1st season of Downton Abbey, but not season 2.  Other shows I'm addicted to that are on Netflix

    The Good Wife

    The Walking Dead

     

    I've thought about checking out Breaking Bad, but DH (who watches and likes it) tells me it is even darker than Dexter. Not sure I want to watch something that dark.  I keep hearing such great things though.

    Have they added newer seasons of Dexter? When I watched Dexter there were only 3 or 4 seasons.

    Hmmm, well apparently it gets REALLY dark around season 3 or 4???  Ok, I'm going to have to check it out, I think.

    I've got D. Abbey on my streaming queue and I just added My So-Called Life the other day b/c I have not seen those shows in FOREVER and I can't remember a lot of them.

    Also ditto Mad Men - can't ever get enough of Mr. Draper (sigh!).

    Did you like The Tudors? If you haven't seen that, I recommend it, and if you have and liked it, then try Borgia. Only season 1 is available right now, but they got picked up for season 2. Fair warning, I did find it a bit more graphic/violent than The Tudors.

    Also, Mad Men if you haven't already. So good.

    downton abbey for sure, then you should try to catch up on season 2 online.

     

    when i was on maternity leave i was addicted to parenthood, how i met your mother, and the tudors. if you like miniseries based on classic literature (aka a huge nerd like me) i LOVED north and south. i seriously watched it every other week, i was so in love with mr. thornton. poor jake almost got ditched for a fictional character...

    Two words. 

    VAMPIRE. DIARIES. omg i can't get enough of this show.

    oooooh and Sons of Anarchy too. LOVE. 

    Also a fan of Weeds, Tudors, Psych, the League, United States of Tara, Louis C.K. (his show, not standup - although that's awesome too). I've been told that the Riches was good, but I haven't seen that yet.

    Big Bang Theory.  We're almost done w/ the 4th season (5th is on tv currently) and we're so sad!

    ETA:  my sister says 30 Rock is the best show on tv.
