We are moving to IGH next month from Mendota Heights and I am trying to find things to do in the area with my 14 month old DD. We have only lived in MN for a couple of years so we are still getting used to all of the different areas.
I looked up ecfe classes for IGH and they all say "waiting for approval" so I don't know what that means. Any suggestions for things to do during the day or mom groups? I belong to a meetup group for the TC but I am looking for things that are nearby.
Thanks!
Re: Inver Grove Heights- things to do?
Well, neither Mendota or Inver Grove, but I know a play group that meets at a church in WSP on Monday mornings. They open the gym for the kids to run, maybe play some games depending on how many/what ages are there, have snack and lead a little circle time. We've only been a couple times since we used to have ECFE on Mondays. Now that our Mondays are open, I think we'll check it out again.
Did you enjoy your ECFE class last semester? You could always register for a class in 197, even though you'll be moving. I know all of the morning classes are full. You're still in the age range for the evening Let's Get Moving class at Pilot Knob, Tuesdays 5:45-6:45, that started 2 weeks ago.
IGH and SSP are one school district so your school district offerings for ECFE won't be in IGH because their classes are held at the Family Connections building in SSP. There is the Baby & Me Drop In Playtime on Wednesdays from 1-2pm for ages up to 18m. No registration necessary. Or just call and find out what is up with the online registration system and if there are any classes you could join - 651-457-9418
Tuesdays and Thursdays at The Grove there is Open Swim & Gym from 9-11, not a specific group that meets, but somewhere to get out and possibly meet other moms with little ones living nearby:

We've been to all ages story time at Inver Glen library a couple times. There are also age-specific story times at various library locations. You can use this search to narrow down where you're willing to travel and whether you want an age-specific baby story time or just "children" in general:

Watch this summer for meetups at Lions Park (in IGH) to feed the fish from the dock. They have a nice playground there too.
If she likes chasing older kids, we'd still love to coordinate a playdate or we could meet you for Gym & Swim or story time, Children's Museum, etc. Hopefully the teething has subsided
There is an open gym type thing from ages 0-5 at the Family Connections building on Friday mornings. It's off of 55th street (I'm not sure of the cross street, sorry!) I believe it is through ECFE, it's 3 dollars per session.
You can also follow SSP/IGH ECFE on Facebook that might give you some ideas:
