Ok, so does anyone reccomend or not reccomend the Ergo Baby Carrier? They are expensive, but my husband's job causes us to go out of town over weekends some, and I want to easily be able to cart baby in it while out and about. I have read it is easy on back, so I am checking out ebay and craigslist to see if I can find a used one rather than buying brand new. TIA!
Re: Ergo baby carrier
I love mine. We used it with DS from when he was 6 months old to when he was about 2. He's over 100 percentile for hieght and 90th percentile for weight and he was never too heavy for it.
Just a word of warning, they are not designed for newborns. You either have to buy the infant insert or a different carrier for the first months. We are getting a Baby K'tan (many people also rec the Moby) for the first few months because the infant insert seems way too hot for summer.

We have the Ergo sport and still use it with DD, who is about 22 pounds and 34 inches tall. We didn't get it until she was almost a year, though, so we don't have the infant insert (although I really liked Moby for the newborn stage anyway).
The differences I know of between the sport and the regular model are the length of straps (a must if either of you are tall) and that the fabric is lighter/more breatheable.
for what it's worth, i have read on the Bump many times about how unbearably hot a Moby is in the summer.
They are amazing!! I used it with my daughter until she was a year old. Its amazing because you can carry them on the front when they are little and then on your hip and back as they get bigger. I used it when we went out and even around the house if she was having a clingy day and wanted to be held while i got stuff done.
For this baby, I have added a wrap conversion ring sling and a Beco Butterfly II to my stash. The Beco comes with a newborn insert and is similar to an Ergo (buckles, etc.). They are about the same price as an Ergo. I just scored mine for 50% off on MamaBargains but you can also find them used on The Babywearer.
I think an Ergo, Beco, or Boba would all be great choices for soft-structured buckle carriers, or I would highly recommend a mei tai (my favorite!). All of these are ergonomically correct, comfy for mom and baby, and are not "crotch danglers" (like the Bjorn) so you can't go wrong with any of those. Babywearing made so many outings SO much for convenient for me. Good luck
