  There are 2 car set adapters for it. One is specifically for the chicco and one for other brands like graco. We have the chicco keyfit so we have the chicco adapter. It just kindof sits down in there and has a strap that goes across the car seat. It's perfectly fine. We didn't use it much since DS2 hated the infant seat just like his brother did. I haven't heard anything bad about the graco with it through. I don't think you can go wrong with either

  The best car seat for the city select is the maxi cosi mico. It snaps in to the black adaptor pieces, no need for the metal bars. The key fit sort of snaps in, but not nearly as well as the mico and you need the metal bars.
  
  The key fit has some nice features, but the sunshade is totally worthless and I think there is a design flaw the way it snaps I to its base (it clicks even when it is not 100% secure, if you don't test it every time by pulling up on it you may drive around with it not completely snapped in).
  
  I say skip the keyfit and use your graco unless you will replace it with the maxi cosi mico

  I had the graco seat and adapter and wasnt thrilled. I just bought a chicco seat and adapter and sold everything else. I like the chicco seat better in that its more comfy and can hold more weight. I liked mico too but it only goes to 22 lbs, the chicco is 30 lbs.
