What did type did you all buy or register for?
This is one of the last things we have left to get, but I'm having a hard time deciding. They just seem so bulky and our bathroom is so small and I don't want some cumbersome tub in the way all the time. But I need to get something or he'll be taking a bath in the sink
.
Re: Bath tub for baby
This.
$7
Where did you get this from??
Exactly. Plus, the ones I've seen in the stores would be in the way all the time.
We didn't receive the one we registered for at our shower but we did receive this one. It's foldable so it may work for you. I think you can find ones like this at Target or Walmart.

I grabbed that picture from Bed Bath and Beyond actually.

NO way I was spending money on a giant tub for $40. These work really well, just fill up the tub to the edge of the sponge and I put a warm wet washcloth over my niece to keep her tummy warm.
ETA: I preferred bathing with this over the little chair thing b/c it was easier to put them on their side a bit to wash butt and back.
I received one of those plastic whale shaped tubs and the blow up duck tub as well. There's one at BBB and that Lucie's List recommended that's basically just a bucket. You could always do that if you're short on space!
Lily, I have never seen a tub like that. Is it spongy material? Looks like a Twinkie!!
This!
It is just a baby shaped sponge that you use in a normal bathtub. Fill up the water to the top edge of it.
My sister and good friend both had the giant fancy tubs that measure water temp and all that jazz. Baby hated it. Sister and friend both hated it. Took up way too much room... For $7 they got sponges and love them.
I got this one:
https://www.amazon.com/Leachco-Safer-Bather-Infant-Bath/dp/B00005JIVI
I like that we can hang it up to dry in the shower and it won't take up a boat load of space like a "normal" tub.
The First Years Pink Sure Comfort Deluxe Newborn-To-Toddler Tub
I registered for the Puj Tub... since we will be doing our baths in the sink. My bath tub sits so high it will be impossible for me to bend over the tub and give him a bath.

I just could not justify spending more on another tub that does the same thing as my normal tub - holds water
I get there are some tubs that are too hard to reach into. My old house would have been hard. It was this obnoxiously giant spa tub big enough for about 6 linebackers and probably 3.5" deep. Current house is a claw foot so the sponge is perfect.
And look at it this way. If it doesn't work, it was $7, you can get a tub if you feel you need it. Better than the other way around, wasting $ on a tub and hating it.
This is the one I registered for at BRU.

We're getting this one in blue:

If for some reason it's not comfortable, we'll add one of those sponge inserts and will still end up paying less than other tubs on the market. I like that it folds up- it will fit right under the bathroom sink.

The sponge Lilly posted is great. I got one from BRU for $10. For the first month, while baby is super little, I would put it on our kitchen counter and just wipe baby down with a warm wash cloth and pour some warm water over his head, since he still had the cord. I also used the sponge in the kitchen sink as a padding. It was great to just squeeze it out and let is dry.
I got one of those nice baby tubs with whirl pool at my shower. After we used the sponge, we used the tub, from 3 to about 6 months. Then, when DS started to sit up on his own, the plastic tub seems small. DS wanted to sit and splash.
Then I went out and got the blow up duckie which we used well past his first birthday.
Those expensive whirl pool tubs with shower sprayer are not really worth it IMO. I should have just gotten the sponge and the duck. Those are what we will use this time.
this is the one we got and if folds away nicely so it doesn't take up a lot of room.
We registered and got the whale tub (plastic) from Babies R Us. But my sister also got me the most adorable tub that fits in the sink for when she is still little. My sister knows how much I love photo ops and this will be perfect. Plus you can just pop the whole thing right in the washing machine after bath time so it's always clean.
I just got this one at WalMart on Saturday with some of the gift cards we got. Here's the link:

I registered for the whale of a tub HUGE thing, but now I'm so glad we didn't get it! There's no way it would fit in out bathroom, so I don't know what we would do with it when he's not bathing.
I got the Prince Lionheart Pod
