I haven't had my PP check up to ask this yet, but I am curious as to when we could consider baby #3? I am absolutely terrified of pregnacy post c-section, I feel like I would just pop open. It is hard for me to believe everything will just stay together for nine months. Tee hee, then again, I am just two weeks PP so doing anything I feel this way! I would love to get pregnant in the early fall, but that was pre c-section. Now I am thinking to wait until Fall 2013. But we'll see! :-)
TIA!
Re: How soon can you (safely) get pregnant again?
It will depend on your OB. Mine says there is no significant medical evidence to suggest it being necessary to wait longer than a year between c-sections. So we got pg again and will have them 11 months 1 week apart.
eta: although I've FELT like things are going to just pop open, they haven't yet!
My OB cleared me to get pregnant at my 6 week checkup the first time around. After #2, he told me to wait a year before conceiving which was fine, since I wasnt wanting a 3rd baby right away. This was due to the fact that I had a rough recovery from #2 based on some complications (unrelated to closely spaced births) so he thought it would be better on my body.
My 2nd pregnancy was a breeze, even after getting pregnant 4.5 months after a c-section. I had some discomfort around my incision in first tri, but nothing unmanageable and it went away within a few weeks. My 2nd pregnancy was way easier than my first.

For a VBAC, my OB wants at least 12 months between and would perfer 18 months. I didn't want a vbac so that didn't matter to me. There was 6 1/2 months between my 1st and getting pg with my 2nd. This time there was 11 1/2 months between my 2nd c/s and this 3rd pg. The # of c/s or the length between doesn't make me more high risk or anything.
