How often do you bathe your babe?

We still sponge bath because his belly button is still healing. Just wondering how often you give your baby a bath and where/how.

Re: How often do you bathe your babe?

  • We do every other night in the whale tub sitting inside our regular tub.  I put just a little water in the whale tub.  I use a washcloth to get her a little wet, then put some soap on the washcloth.  I pour water on her to rinse her off and to wash her hair.

Luckily, E LOVES baths and just sits wide-eyed and looking around the whole time with this really cute look of contentment on her face :)

  • We are doing bath time every 2-3 days. This last time was the first time we used the tub.

  • sponge bath every 2-3 days. our hospital told us to only use warm water (no soap) except for when washing his hair.

we can start using the little tub we bought after he turns 1 month. i cant wait!! :)

  • We bathe our LO every other night before bed.  We have a little tub that I also put right into our bath tub.  He loves the bath!  I make sure I wash everything well with a washcloth, and then use the brush they gave us at the hospital to prevent cradle cap.

  • So far he's had 1 bath at home( Saturday) and we will probably bathe him tonight or tomorrow night, my doc said twice a week at this stage( he's 9 days old) he's gotten his hair washed a few extra times though because he managed to pee on his head...twice in 1 day!

pretty much this...the nurse at the hosp said 2-3 days could be more often than needed depending on how LO is doing and suggested using the "sniff test" LOL...her stump just came off this morning so now we can do real baths...I hated bathing her with the stump because even with a spnge bath i was paranoid about getting the cord wet

  • Our little guy hates the sponge baths right now so I can't wait to get him into a real bath. Right now, I do it every 2-3 days and in the morning since I know it's going to freak him out and keep him awake for awhile!

  • Ana gets a bath every night. I dont wash her (hair) with soap every night but I do wash her bum with soap every night.

We do it as part of a night time routine. It gets her "in the mood" for bed. And she really really likes baths. She could be crying up a storm and as soon as I turn on the water - silence.

  • Every 2 days.  Just a little soap in the water.  Still have not washed her hair yet.  I use the kitchen sink (cleaned first, of course) with a sling/hammock that came with DS's tub.

  • The twins get a bath every other day. Sometimes it works out to every two or three days if time gets away from us. They have a tub with a slanted sling seat. We used to put it on the kitchen counter so we wouldn't have to bend over. Now we sit the tub on the bedroom floor and bathe them there. We put a towel on the tub to catch any little splashes and use the baby body wash from head to toe.
  • Every 2-3 days. I don't want his skin to get dry (he's got peeling skin on his face already). He seems to really enjoy his baths, so I will be glad when he gets older and I feel comfortable giving him one every night. I love the way he smells after a bath!
