Hi ladies. Can anybody tell me bout their CVS test experience. Did u chose the abdominal or cervical version? How was the pain and anxiety controlled? How quickly did u get results? Our NT scan is next week so not sure if it will be needed but I'm already concerned. Thank you.
Re: CVS test
The CVS testing can be based on where your placenta is located and how well the peri can reach it. I had an abdominal CVS over a year ago. It was the best choice for the location of the placenta. The results came back rather quickly, but we had a rush put in. The only pain I remember was from the numbing shots they gave. During the procedure I was only feeling pressure. I was having several complications and there was no control for my anxiety.
I am lurking on the boards and not a normal poster here. If you have more questions page me on BOTB.
I had a transabdominal CVS with my son. They told me that it was because I have a retroverted uterus.
My uterus decided to cramp during the procedure. It is rare for that to occur. In preparing me for the procedure, the doctor said that if I had any discomfort, it would be when the needle was going in. He even said "there..the worst is over"--and then wham! A major cramp that lasted the entire time he was retrieving the tissue. I don't think it was more than 20 or 30 seconds. It hurt. And I was trying to keep really still. They could see the cramping on the u/s screen.
I am only telling you because I wished I had known. It took me by surprise. It was fine in the end. If it happens to you, just breathe through it, and it will be over before you know it.
