famous last words "Nobody has their baby in 3 hours." In response to DH obsessing over whether or not he would get stuck in traffic when I finally went into labor. He was SO worried he wouldn't be here and I kept mocking him telling him that nobody has a baby that quickly - especially a FTM. Yeah.....Guess who had their baby in 3 hours?? Don't worry, he was there.
motto for life Never go to bed hungry.
and to lighten things up...fav sexual position What is this "sex" you speak of? I'm boring - I enjoy missionary the best. It's just something about the weight of a man's body on top of mine.
Favorite kind of cupcake? Red Velvet with cream cheese frosting - BUT there is a place near me that makes a churro cupcake and it is quickly stepping into first place.
Biggest regret? That's a tough one....I have made some "interesting" decisions in my life, but every choice I have made has to led me to where I am now. I would say probably that my biggest regret is that that I don't keep in touch with old friends as much as I would like.
Most embarrassing moment involving AF? When I got my period the first time it was over summer vacation and I had to call my mom at work. She just kept asking me if I was sure I hadn't run into something by mistake.
How many more cupcakes should I be eating? I do eat a lot...I want YOU to eat more cupcakes so I eat LESS.
What do you like most about your job? I teach, so I enjoy that every day is a new adventure. No matter how well I plan tings out, there is at least one little surprise every day. I also feel like a rockstar every time I go to work. There is just something about getting hugs from 8 year olds every morning and being made to feel like it was really important that you showed up that day.
What do you not like about it? It is VERY time consuming and with a LO now I feel like all I do is take care of him and work. I bring so much work home with me it is ridiculous. I also work with a lot of kids who have very high academic or emotional needs and sometimes it is so draining and frustrating so I feel like I don't always have the ability to give 100% of myself to my family.
What do you wish you spent more time doing five years ago? Going to school! Maybe 10 years as opposed to 5. I went back to school 5 years(ish) ago to change careers and I wish I would have made that decision way earlier in life.
AND
What is the sexiest piece of lingerie you own? And when was the last time you wore it? Neither hubs or I are big lingerie people, but I do have a couple of cutesy pieces from VS. Nothing exciting and everything has a crotch. Sorry! Haha. Unfortunately I haven't worn any of it since before LO was born. Maybe as soon as everyone in this house gets over our current state of sickness I will bust it all back out!
1) What made you decide to cut all your hair off, and does your DH like it? I LOVE long hair.....on other people. I am forever growing my hair out and then chopping it all off again, but I think I will stick with this particular style for a little while. I need to make some changes to get it to exactly what I want it to be, but we are getting closer. Fortunately DH LOVES short hair and is always encouraging me to cut it.
2) Favorite music and favorite band/artist? I don't really have a favorite. DH will tell you that I used to have terrible taste in music and "thank god I met him," but I just liked what I liked! I could listen to Adele, Death Cab for Cutie, Jason Meaz, and Dashboard Confessional all day long. But then I also like bands like Rise Against - go figure.
3) If you could meet one bumpie that lives far from you, who would it be and why? Ooooh, that's a hard one. How dare you make me choose!!! I'm going to step out of my little chat group and say Crash. I think it would be fun to sit down with her and get to know her and I think she would have a lot of interesting things to say. I also think she would make me laugh. Otherwise I would say all the chatty mommies on a beach with drinks in our hands.
4) What is something you feel strongly about that you would defend over and over again? Total can of worms here........Breastfeeding. I just don't understand women who say they are going to FF before they even have the baby. I will say that BFing is the best thing for your baby and nothing anyone can say will make me NOT say that. I also think that some of the people who stopped BFing probably could have gone longer if they had had the proper support. It's not the mom's fault. Our society as a whole has this whole "formula is just the same" mentality and women have been left on their own to "just figure things out." I think that every mom should have access to a lactation consultant free of charge for as long as she needs that support. I understand that there really are some women who just can't BF, but I think it is a lower percentage of what we actually see. I hope this didn't rub too many people the wrong way.....;)
If you had to wear one outfit for the rest of your life what would it be? a kick ass pair of dark jeans, a well fit dark gray T-shirt, and a cute pair of Pumas or Toms. Otherwise known as "what I already wear every day." Haha
If you had unlimited time to pick up a hobby/sport and stick with it what would it be? So many choices!!!! I would love to train to run a marathon, learn how to knit, take cooking classes, and box. I LOVE boxing!!
What is your favorite meal? It can involve an appetizer and desert as well... There is an Italian place we used to live near that we actually had our reception at and I LOVE their food. My favorite meal would be bruschetta, Aglio Oglio (spaghetti with oodles of garlic and olive oil) and a cannoli for dessert. Damn, now i want to go there!
What is your alcoholic drink choice? Night time - Baileys on ice, Day time - a nice glass of red wine. I could also go for some sangria. (which I also want now)
If you could change one thing about the world what would it be? Now that I am a mom, I feel like all of my thoughts are mommy-centered. I wish that everyone who wanted to had the opportunity to stay home with their babies without having to worry about going into debt.
What is one piece of advice you'll give Max on his wedding day? Always treat your wife the way your dad treated me. )He's got a great role model to look up to!)
Will you have the birds & bees convo with him? (hopefully before his wedding day if you do!) I always tell my husband that will be HIS job!! I want to be honest with him. I'm not a believer in marriage before sex, but I do think you should be with someone you would be willing to raise a baby WITH. Now I just need to find the perfect way to tell him that.....
Do you have any phobias? (spiders, heights...) I am terrified of birds. Yeah, I said it.
What's your favorite holiday and why? I love Thanksgiving because of all the food. I also love it because the focus is on family and everyone being together without the added problem of gifts like Christmas.
When was the last time you washed your sheets? Don't even get me started on this. Let's just say today. They are being washed today.
If you had a free day how would you spend it? Assuming my husband had to work, I would wake up before LO and DH and go for a serious run. Pick up Satrbucks on my way home and shower in peace. After LO was up, fed, and down for a napI would read a book of my choice while someone else cleaned my house and did my laundry. Once LO was back up we would go visit my friend and take our LO's to the zoo. After a long day, LO would definitely go to bed on time (hehe) so that DH and I could enjoy dinner together and even have the chance to do the deed.

I love this answer! This is exactly what I think. 100% of it!
My questions....
1.) What do you love about your DH? What about him drives you insane?
2.) Where would you travel to if you had unlimited funding?
3.) Where is the farthest you've ever been away from home?
4.) What do you love about motherhood? What do you find difficult?
5.) Have your opinions on CIO, baby wearing, making homemade baby food, bed-sharing, etc etc changed since the birth of Max?

1.) What do you love about your DH? What about him drives you insane? My DH is hilarious. We both have a strange brand of humor, but it is the same and I LOVE it!There isn't much that drives me nuts - but I hate that he doesn't want to go places with me when it is something for people he doesn't know.
2.) Where would you travel to if you had unlimited funding? Italy, Greece, Spain, trip around the world??
3.) Where is the farthest you've ever been away from home? Greece - It was awesome, I loved it and I want to be there right now!!
4.) What do you love about motherhood? What do you find difficult? Everything and Everything. I think the lack of sleep is the hardest and sometimes I feel the most stress when I wake up for the 6th time in a night. Mostly I love being a mom though and I can't believe I was lucky enough to be able to have this "job."
5.) Have your opinions on CIO, baby wearing, making homemade baby food, bed-sharing, etc etc changed since the birth of Max? I think most of my thoughts changed once I got pregnant. Once I was pregnant, everything changed and I became super hippy! Haha. I wear him everywhere, make his food, didn't circumcise, be shared (until he decided he was over it!), had an unmedicated birth and everything else I never thought I would do. I get angry when people make comments about these types of choices and assume that people do these things to earn some type of award or be a "better parent." I am no better parent than any one on these boards, but these are the choices that make ME happy and that work for MY family. I may share with you the benefits of these choices, but will never say you should do it too. As for CIO, I have never been on board.

Don't feel bad. I feel the same way about missionary. Sometimes you just need that. giggidy
What is the most expensive piece of jewelry you own? My engagement ring - I am not a big jewelry person.
Tell us about your favorite and least favorite students. My current favorite is my student with autism who busted me for eating M&Ms by telling me that my mouth smelled like chocolate and who also told me he needed to go to the nurse because he had heartburn. He's 8. I have a rough crowd this year - 1 who is on anti-psychotics, 1 who is being taken off his ADHD meds tomorrow, 1 who is being evaluated by a psychologist this week, 1 who is 8 going on 16 complete with eyerolls and sparkly sunglasses at recess, 1 who spent all day growling at people yesterday and tried to flip the lunch table (a girl!!).......need I continue?
Would you rather live in a hurricane zone or a tornado zone? Tornado hands down. I grew up in the midwest and have been through at least 2 tornadoes. The unknown of a hurricane scares me.
How many kids do you want and how far apart will they be? That's a great question....I would like at least one more in the next two years. I'm getting kind of oldish so who knows beyond that.
What is Max's cutest outfit? I love when he wears "little man" clothes. My current favorite is a pair of khakis and his purple and white button up.
Spit or swallow? he he Neither. This gives me total anxiety. I tried to once for hubs but got nervous and had to stop. Haha. He's a big biy - he knows when to tell me when to stop.
