Post-nasal drip/coughing

So DS starting coughing over the weekend, took him to the dr yesterday, she said the coughing is from post-nasal drip. I'm a moron and forgot to ask what I can do about it, if anything. I turned on the humidifier last night, elevated his mattress but I don't think either helped. Anything else I can do? There's story time at our library today, do you think we can go? He doesn't have a fever and the snot is clear, I just don't want to be *that* mom who brings her snotty baby around other kids if there's a chance it's contagious.  Especially since I totally gave a mom the stink eye for bringing her coughing daughter to class last week. But it's supposed to rain today and I might go crazy if we have to stay home. TIA!

Re: Post-nasal drip/coughing

  • DD has allergies, which cause a cough from post-nasal drip. I still take her to DC, dance class, the children's museum etc. because I know she's not contagious. I do wonder if people are annoyed with me because I have my coughing child around theirs. If I kept her home because she was coughing, we would never be able to do anything in January/February.

To answer your other question, I rub vicks on DD's feet and put socks on, put her in a steamy shower/bathroom, run the humidifier, etc. and it works sometimes, but not all the time.
