we are considering having ruby join her first soccer team for fun in a few weeks. it's $140 for 8 weeks of soccer. does that sound reasonable? we've never done anything like this. i think it sounds fine, dh thinks it sounds a little expensive.

Re: how much for soccer?

  • I have no idea but Ruby would totally rock those knee high socks!!!
  • Loading the player...
  • That's a lot, we've never paid more than $100 for a sports season. Don't forget you still have to buy shorts, shin guards, socks...   Try the YMCA, that are always cheaper but they might not start until age 4

  • I think we are paying something like $115* for the boys 8 week session at Soccer Tots.

*each. Also it's not really organized soccer, if that makes a difference.

  • Nico's is 110 for the season and includes the uniform but not the shoes and shinguards. He is playing with PAYSL. Pflugerville Area Youth Soccer League. In the fall he played with a group our of Georgetown that was cheaper I believe but it was too far for us.
  • Soccer Cubs (through SZ in South Austin) is $129 for 10 weeks.
  • The Southwest YMCA non-member rate is $95 for the spring season (min age is 4, though.)
  • The Twin Lakes Y is $105 (including uniform) for non-members. It goes for 8 weeks and starts at age 3.

I was going to say this. We are Y members so it is free just the $30 uniform fee, but yeah it is still cheaper for non-members.  I think the fees are all the same for all the Ys but you might double check for the one in North Austin. (Parmer/McNeil)
