Low Beta at 14 dpo -- any hope?

Hi Ladies,

I need some advice. I had my first beta done yesterday, at 13 or 14 dpo, and it was 27. This seems really low to me, although the nurse told me it could just be because I'm so early on. I had been taking hpt's every day from 8 dpo and only got a bpf on Saturday, which would have been 11 or 12 dpo... so is it possible this is still a viable pregnancy or is it looking unlikely? I've miscarried two times in between my son and my daugher and it's so hard to wait until my next beta tomorrow.

Thanks for any advice you have.

Oh, and here is my chart. FF totally marked my O date wrong, which is why I'm trying to figure out how many dpo I am. I think I O'd on CD 18 or 19.

I had my first beta drawn the day I first got a BFP, and it was only 8.8. So the next day it could have been way less than yours. Hang in there and good luck for a great second beta!

To me that's a perfectly acceptable beta. Mine was only 38 at 15DPO, and so far I'm doing really well. FX for you!!

Yes. From my understanding, the number doesn't matter as much as it doubling in the right timeframe. Hang in there!

I think it's a good number! It's more important that it doubles, so don't worry too much about it.

As PP said, all that matters is your doubling time.

With this pregnancy, at 11DPO my beta was 24 and at 13 my beta was 48.

I have a dear friend on here whose first beta was 8 at something like 11DPO and she is still going strong into her 3rd trimester!

I've never had beta's drawn for this exact reason. My Dr. said that she didn't want me stressing over numbers, since she knew I'd be stressing enough being PgAL. ((hugs)) to you and I am sure everything is fine. I've heard of much lower numbers with ladies that were more dpo that you are.

Honestly, so long as it's above 5 it's a great number if it doubles in 48-72 hours. Keep us updated about your second draw!

My beta was 50 at 15DPO, meaning it was probably around 25 at 13DPO. We have one healthy baby with a heartbeat in there! It's not about the numbers, it's about doubling.

Exactly this. AND what they really want to see is an increase of at least 60% every 48-72 hours. 27 is within the normal range, from what I understand. Congratulations!

Look at the numbers on betabase for 13 and 14dpo. I think your number is perfectly acceptable! FX for doubling because that is what matters!

That doesn't sound bad at all, I know my doctor wants to see a doubling in the hcG and be within the "normal" range for progesterone. FX for you!

Check out my betas in my siggy, the first 2 were drawn at 11 dpo and 13 dpo, and they were pretty low, but they more then doubled which is what mattered.
