done them in the past. no guarantees for the future. not sure they should be legal, but it would at least free up the justice system for more important issues. i think it would have to be seriously regulated like alcohol.
A person can always drink alcohol to the point of serious intoxication but a person can also drink alcohol socially and be fine. Who ever heard of someone smoking crack socially and being fine???????

Nope. Nope. And I don't really know where I stand on weed being legal. Tax the sh!t out of it if they do decide to do it. All other drugs like coke should def stay illegal.
I've never done drugs, never even smoked weed. I tried getting a second-hand high once (lame!) but it didn't work. I never will in the future.
I'm torn-I don't know how I feel about MJ being legal. Hubby says that it probably should be. The "war on drugs" is fruitless and costs us so much money. I think it wouldn't be any different than alcohol being legal, it would just have to be regulated (which would probably make it stupid and not as fun to a lot of people). So many people do it anyway. I've always thought being arrested for having a little bit of weed on you was stupid.
As far as recreational drugs like meth, crack, etc., HELL NO.

Yes I have, in the past; I grew out of it and have no plans to do it in the future, especially with being a parent. Should it be legal - the stuff I've done, absolutely not...but MJ, who cares. They can regulate and tax the crap out of it just like cigarettes and alcohol, and there can be laws put in place to maintain order just like there already are for alcohol. Andplusalso, if it's legal it makes it less of a taboo thing to do, therefore less tempting for kids who want to rebel. What's the fun in doing something naughty if it's not really naughty anymore?
I have smoked weed in the past..prob wont ever do it again don't like the way it makes me feel. I agree with PP we could get this country out of its money problems if they could tax MJ.
I'm pro decriminalizing usage of all drugs. I mean, think about it. If they suddenly legalized meth, would you start taking it? Obviously not - drugs are taboo regardless of whether they are legal, and the only effect of making them illicit is to clog up the courts and the prisons with drug dealers & users who are really only a danger to other drug users or themselves.
Portugal is a great case study of what happens when all drugs are decriminalized - an initial spike in usage (I'm sure there would be a few celebratory MJ parties after all), followed by pretty much the same patterns of usage over the long term, with some surprisingly great benefits like lower rates of HIV and higher rates of treatment for drug users. See the article here: https://www.time.com/time/health/article/0,8599,1893946,00.html.
Decriminalization in the US would also very likely stabilize the political situation in Mexico entirely. I saw the former advisor to President Fox speak at school a year ago, and he made a very compelling case.

I am in favor of decriminalization, which is different from legalization.

Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck. Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.

Whaaa??
First, drugs are taboo mainly because they're illegal, secondly because of the effects they cause, not only to the user but to people around them. Alcohol was once taboo, don't you think in 50 years if hard drugs were legal, they probably wouldn't be taboo anymore?
Secondly, hard drug users cause a lot more problems than "clogging up court systems". Innocent people are hurt/killed whether directly or indirectly from people associated with drugs. They are the root source for gangs and violence. They need to be taken off streets and away from regular people trying to live their normal drug-free lives.

Yes I have smoked marijuana 3 times....and don't plan on doing it ever again.
No, I do not think marijuana should be legalized. It is considered a gateway drug, legalizing it more people WILL smoke it, which will lead to more people getting into the harder stuff.

Re: Stolen from another board: Poll Drugs
I used to smoke weed from time to time but nothing else. Do you mean legalizing crack, meth or heroin???? That's madness!
I've never done drugs, never even smoked weed. I tried getting a second-hand high once (lame!) but it didn't work. I never will in the future.

Make marijuana legal, tax it, help out the debt in this country.
That is all.

I would be fine with weed becoming legal - but not harder drugs.
I have never tried any illegal drugs.
