Coworker is pregnant too!

in 1st Trimester
I wasn't planning to tell anyone at work until after Christmas, but my coworker came in to tell me this morning that she's pregnant and due in July!  When she told me I told her too, but swore her to secrecy since I'm still going to wait to tell everyone else.  I'm so excited to have someone at work that I can talk to about it now though.  She's due 5 days after me.

    That is super exciting.  I want to tell people in my office so badly but we are waiting until the beginning of December.  I haven't even told my boss yet.

    That's cool! I have a coworker who is trying to get pregnant, so we're hoping she gets pregnant soon too, and we can go through it together.

    There are of 5 us teachers that are pregnant at the elementary school I work at. One teacher and myself are due the same week. And, my DD's preschool teacher is due a couple of days after I am.

    I forgot to mention the best part, my coworker already talked to HR so I got the answers to my questions about how much time we have without having to wait until I'm ready to tell!  We get 6 weeks of short term disability at 80% of our pay (I was thinking it was 60% so I'm pretty excited) plus we can use vacation and sick days to take up to 12 weeks total and we can take whatever's not covered by vacation, sick days or std as unpaid.  So, to take the full 12 weeks, only 3 will have to be unpaid.  I feel like I can breathe a bit easier now.

    awww... that is so exciting.  i'm jealous. :)

    i have a couple friends who are about 10-14 weeks ahead of me... but they all live in different towns.  blah. :)

    haha... my office is small (three including me) and my boss told my co-worker, "umm... do we need to have the birth control talk?"

    he'd die if she got knocked up too. :)  LOL! 

    additional info:  ummm... re-reading that... it sounds a little crazy, weird and totally out of place.  but we're really close and it was just funny.  :)

    None of my friends are pregnant, I wish I had someone to go through this together with... That'd be fun!

    With my first child, I had a co-worker who was due 11 days before me - we even had the same OB.  It was a blast but I'm sure I gained more weight because of it.  We fed off each others cravings and it got to be hilarious. Our whole office said they gained baby weight too because of us.  She wound up delivering early and I was late so our kids are about 6 weeks apart.

    My boss is one of us that's pregnant so she doesn't care :)
