OMG we actually like the same house!
and liking it more and more every day- eek i'm so not ready for this. i have a horrible habit of getting fixated on things i want and now i'm totally fearing this will not work out. is this normal?
we love the neighborhood, the layout of the house- from what we've seen in photos, and the price is not bad but there is a 'no showing' on the house till feb 14th??
it's been on trulia for only a few days, (yeah thanks for introducing me to that time suck ladies- they even have apps to support my addiction for my phone and ipad!!) but the price is shown as dropped since the initial listing. does this mean it can be on the market for a while but new to trulia?
i know we just started looking, but can you find the one that quickly? owell even it it doesn't work out we have 10 months left, since we met in '03, and married in '06, and had M in '09, i figure our next new big thing will happen in '12 and buying a house is a new big thing!
send me some new house dust or something!
Re: well doesn't it just figure!
I've noticed that sometimes they change the price right away to appear in more searches. I found a husband/wife team in the Syracuse area who RAISE the price on almost all of their listings. Say you search $100-$150K range. They list the house at $150 and then raise it to $160. It still shows in the lower search since it was the original price.
I found that sometimes if you click on the link for the listing agency you can see more pictures/details on their site.
Good luck finding "the one"!
the listing agency's site has the same information on the price, but show the price dropping back in early December- and more photos and some of the photos have christmas decor up some don't
our Realtor says that it's 'off the market till next week', it was purchased by the current owners in 2004 from a foreclosure
No idea about the trulia thing..
BUT.. DH and I found our house the first day we decided to look at houses. We didn't have an agent, a mortgage in place.. anything really.. We were driving around looking at some houses I'd seen online... We went to a house open house. It was a horrible layout and smelled like cat pee and cigarettes.. As we were leaving, the agent said "by the way, there is a house around the corner that has an open house right now too" (same company listing it). We went, walked through.. got back out to the front porch and looked at each other like THIS IS OUR HOUSE.. we just LOVED it.
And somehow it worked out.. we got the mortgage preapproval, we put an offer in, which was initially rejected in favor of another offer, but the initial offer fell through and we got a call at 10pm one night, like a week later, asking if we were still interested. I truly believe we were meant to live here.

I am not sure about the tactics involved...
I bought the first house I looked at. When I bought, the market was hot and the realtor would send me listings, I would like a few and by the time I responded they were always sold. This one she was the seller's agent as well, so I got to look at it right away, loved it and put a purchase offer in. She did have me alook at a few others to be sure, and make sure that it was just not an emotional response to buying the first house I looked at because I was so excited.
