C-sections

Has anyone had plastic surgery post c/s to fix their...

...pooch? I have a terrible pooch and I can't do anything to fix it (I am slim and a runner.) I'm 12 mos post c/s and will be trying for #2 (and final) soon and would like to hear women's experiences on post c/s plastic surgery to fix this area...anyone?

  • I would LOVE to hear any responses about this!  A lot of my good friends are doctors and one of them had a c-section.  We were lamenting the fact that there is not some plastics/OB fellowship to fix ugly c-section scars and pooches!  There are fellowships for everything and this one is badly needed.  I absolutely want to get mine fixed after this next baby.  I'm slim, too, and I run (a lot) but NOTHING helped.  I was below pp weight before I got pregnant again but I still had that ugly little pucker going on.

  • When I spoke with my OB about that later on she said that when she does c/s and the mom has a pooch she will do take a little more in to get rid of it for them. So, essentially a tiny tummy tuck. I know some some women on here get their knickers in a bunch of an OB doing something like that during a c/s but meh.

  • I certainly plan on it after this baby!

I have a close friend who had 2 c-sections as well and she was telling me that with her first one her scar was a little jagged and her doctor took a little extra out the second time and that it really helped with her pooch.

They do this yes, but because of all of the pregnancy swelling it doesn't necessarily work as well as getting it done later on.

My mom had problems with her scar tissue because she had a two vertical incisions and two horizontal ones, along with getting her gall bladder out so she did indeed get her stomach fixed.  Hers was somewhat necessary though.  However, I have been thinking about it myself.  My ob pulled mine down as much as possible but it is pretty bad  still.

I am slender also being 20 pounds less then I was pre pregnancy with my second.  Even then I was fairly slim.  I don't think it really makes a big difference....

  • I always thought I would never get plastic surgery but now....I am so glad I picked an ob/gyn that performs plastic surgery as well! After 2 c sections I have almost no visible scar and he gives discounts on mommy makeovers to his patients!! LOL I still don't know if I will do it but I am seriously considering it. My first son was huge and I gained a ton of water weight so my skin stretched so much even after losing the weight I had really super saggy belly skin. This will be our last child (that we plan on) so when I lose the weight I will make that decision.

My friend did it. She has the same dr as me and she looks amazing. You can't even tell she had a c section.
