Pregnant after IF

First OB appt today at 10w1d

I had my first appointment with the OB today. I actually saw a nurse midwife, but she was very informative. I didn't have to do too much paperwork as I am going to a university based program that is same as my RE, and they were able to transfer everything.

After the nurse did my exam (pap smear, etc), she wanted to try to hear the babies on the doppler but couldn't find them - I freaked and started crying! She was so nice, though and was able to squeeze me in for an ultrasound to ease my mind. I was so grateful to her!! We were able to see both heartbeats, and Baby B which was behind by 5 days last time is now ahead, so we had B at 10w3d with a hb of 174 and baby A at 10w1d with a hb of 171. They said everything looked great, and I am so relieved!

Next up, NT scan on the 20th. I did my bloodwork today so they'll have the results in time for my appt.

Best of luck to all of you ladies with upcoming appts Smile

Lots of natural cycles, 2 IUIs, and 3 IVFs later, our miracle girl/boy twins were born 08.04.12 at 35w6d. We are in love!

  • Hey Aegis! Yep, I am, that's why I decided to stay there for OB care. Most of my friends have delivered at the other hospital in town, but I was really impressed with the facilities, nurses, etc, when I was there for IVF. It's brand new and super state of the art, and they have a top rated level 3 NICU (which I hope and pray I will not need!!)

How's the lupron treating you? You are in my prayers, big-time for your FET :)

  • Sounds like your babies are doing great!

I had originally chosen an OB who delivered at "the other hospital" but I was not happy about the way they handled my m/c so I'm going to be looking at other OB's when the time is right.  You'll have to let me know how you like the practice as time goes along.  I had done my IVF "orientation" seminar at the hospital near my house, and it was so dumpy that I think I'm going downtown regardless :)

Lupron is treating me good. I was supposed to start delestrogen injections tonight, and went in for my baseline this morning.  The u/s looked good, but my estrogen level was too high, so they're hoping it will drop enough by Thursday that I can get this show on the road.

  • My OB also tried at 10 weeks and couldn't hear it, but they don't even do in-house ultrasounds so I had a full week to freak out after that before my NT scan.  Glad to hear the babies are doing well.
