Recommend your crib!

There are so many cribs out there! Even Baby Bargains is overwhelming for this topic. Its not important to me that it convert because our bedrooms are small but I still want it to have that type of look rather then the more modern IKEA ones. What crib are you using?

Re: Recommend your crib!

  • We got the Harper crib from giggle.com.

  • I love my PBK Sleigh crib.  It has held up great over the last year and a half.  I would recommend purchasing the converter kit at the same time you purchase your crib, regardless of which crib you choose...since we almost were unable to locate one once we were ready to think about converting.  We had a track one down in another state because they were sold out online and weren't making more of the model we needed.
  • We have the DaVinci Kalani Mini Crib and love it! It also comes in a regular standard-size crib.

  • We have two Graco Lauren's, which are very nice at a great price (~$120/ea). They convert to toddler beds and headboards, though we may not use them for that. My reco is to not waste a lot of money on a fancy crib, get something that is sturdy and you like and get a nice mattress. There are so many ppl I know who get so upset when they spend a lot of $ on forever furniture and then when their kids turn into beavers, they end up crying about all the $ they wasted.

  • We have the Graco Lauren.  We loved the look, price, and reviews!
  • Baby Cache Heritage crib. I cannot say enough good things about it! It will be my son's one and only bed though, so it's not super cheap. I don't think it was a bad price though. We got it for about $375 with a 20% off coupon at BRU.

  • Thanks everyone! This was so helpful!
  • Ours is discontinued (it's 2 1/2 years old), BUT I do recommend that you get one that isn't as expensive, that will maybe convert to just a toddler bed, but not a double.

Enough of my friends have had their kids chew through their cribs to convince me never to buy "forever" nursery furniture. We got a simple crib and changing table that's sturdy enough to last through two babies (we're saving the nursery furniture for #2 in a couple of years).  It's still doing well two years later.
