Little Evan lost his fight this morning.

He had a rough couple of days, and about 2 days ago the doctors and parents made the decision to wean him off of all his meds (except the pain meds). They kept a 24 hour vigil at his bed, with all of his family, and after almost 48 hours without his meds, he passed peacefully in his sleep early this morning.

I cannot even imagine the pain his family must be in right now, because not even being a relative, my heart is absolutely broken. He went through so much and fought so hard, he proved the doctors wrong over and over again. It brings some relief to think that he is not in pain anymore.. but I still can't begin to wrap my brain around what his parents must be feeling right now.

He was his Daddy's only son, only child. So terribly sad.
