During my pregnancy, I was on bedrest for 4 months and gained 45lbs. My daughter is 10weeks old, and I have not lost a pound since her birth even though I am breastfeeding. I am trying to stay within a sufficient calorie range to breastfeed (1800-2000 calories). I do toning workouts throughout the week. Has anyone else had/having this problem? Any suggestions? What worked for everyone else?
Re: The Staying Weight
I was in almost the same situation, except I gained a little more than you did. I was teeny pre-pg -- 5'2" and 112 lbs, and my body freaked out during pregnancy. I swear, I didn't go nuts with eating, and I gained 50 lbs, ended up on bedrest at the end, etc.
I started out walking while baby-wearing, then worked my way up to yoga/dance classes, and finally was able to run at four months post-pg. (When I weighed more, it hurt my knees too much to run.) I started out slow with jog-walking, and now my long runs are five miles.
My little guy turned 10 months old today, and I'm maybe 8 lbs over my pre-pg weight (if that), and I'm in better shape than I was pre-pg running-wise. I still have the mom tummy, but other than that, I'd say I'm about the same.
