How long after CP do we need to wait?

Hi Ladies,

I suffered a chemical pregnancy two weeks ago.  I was between 4 and 5 weeks and only had a light pregnancy test line.  My doctor says I can start again right away because he doesn't suspect anything other than an abnormality in the fetus.  Can I just just continue to chart and use my OPK to see when I ovulate this month or do I have to wait again until after I get my period?  He didn't seem too concerned when I asked, so I figure we should just try when I ovulate in the next week or so.  There doesn't seem to be any medical reason to wait until next cycle..... what do you think?

    My Dr said the same thing... did you have a beta done? mine was only 3 the day before AF came... since the beta was so low and there was no inflamation at my CD3 appointment he said we could start again right away...

    I'm sorry for your loss. Welcome. I,personally, would ask my doctor how long I should wait.

    I am sorry for your loss. If your dr gave you the green light and you feel emotionally ready, then go for it. Don't dismiss the need the grieve your loss, though. If you need time, then take some time. One cycle is not long at all and it might help you heal emotionally. ((hugs)) Good luck with whatever you choose!

    Sorry for your loss.  I was told I didn't have to wait, but I think it's more important to care for yourself first if you need some time.

    Welcome and sorry for your loss.

    Ask your doc, but from what I have learned most docs would advise to have one AF post m/c before TTC.  Once that happens, it is easier for them to date a subsequent pg if you get lucky right away.  If you have had one AF after your loss, then go ahead and get busy, but only if you feel emotionally ready to do so.  GL!

    Continue to chart and use your OPKs. You don't have to wait until after you get your period. I got pg w/ my DS the cycle following a CP. GL!!

    Since your doctor says you can start trying right away, then if you guys are ready, go right ahead. 

    I would continue temping and then wait until after your betas are down to 0 before using OPKs.

    Please note that most of the women that I've chart stalked that had CP O'd later than usual. Usually around a week later. Myself included, even though I have very irregular cycles.
