I want to start some sort of routine/scheduled learning activities for the girls (they only go to daycare 2x a week). I like the idea of doing a letter/number/theme a week.
Anyone have any recs for ages 4 and 2.5?

Start with 1 letter, 1 number and 1 shape a week. Print off as many activites as you can and let them color them, write and interact with them. Let them make things related to the letter and number (for example, take a sheet of construction paper and inside a big number 2, they will glue 2 of different items like 2 marbles, 2 sitckers etc) The website, starfall is awesome.
The four year old will also need to start learning sight words to be ready for kinder

All of this. I love Starfall and used it in my first grade class as a center. Just don't try to go overboard; you'll stress yourself out and make them hate learning. Try to make things fun. Like go to the zoo and count the animals, talk about the colors, look for specific letters in their names, find shapes in nature. It doesn't have to come from a book. Enjoy!

Shes been doing sight words with her older sister and loves it! She goes to preschool twice a week...I just want something we can do the other three days. She still has one year of preschool before K too.

Re: Moms of older kids and teachers
Are you on Pinterest? There are TONS of great ideas...I'm already pinning them for when Adrian gets a bit older.
Here are two great sites I've found...
TONS of FUN (This mom used to be a preschool teacher)
Little Hands Big Work (Another mom who used to teach preschool)
Here are a few more pages. Sorry they are not clicky!

If you can find a teacher's store near you, it's worth taking a look in there. They have workbooks, charts, and games.
When I taught preschool I used to play "Go Fish" with just the numeric cards in a deck of cards to teach numbers.
