Are there any other local moms who have been on or are currently on Lovenox injections? I just thought it would be nice to have someone local to vent to. I posted on the high risk board but it doesn't look like anyone is local. Thanks
My bff has been on them for 2 pregnancys . First one she took heparin and now lovenox - she is awesome and on FB - I can give u her info if it helps? Good luck girl I know she always ices the area prior to the injection and made sure to get the smallest diabetic needles so it wouldn't hurt so much ,
For APLS? I'm currently getting worked up for clotting disorders and may have to start if we decide to TTC again. What questions do you have? I have done tons of research and have friends who've been on them. I'll likely also have to do 17P injections starting at ~16w.
Leslie- No I'm taking a daily shot of Lovenox because of a prior DVT. Basically, I've been on it since October and I still can't find a way to make the shots less painful. I've iced, changed the angle, injected slowly, etc and it hurts pretty much every time and continues to hurt for about 5-10 minutes after. I know its not the worst thing in the world but it would be nice if I could find a way to make it slightly better for the next 4 months. I'm also starting to get worried about how I'm going to continue the shots in my stomach as it continues to grow.
Stef- If your friend doesn't mind talking to me, would you share my info with her? Thanks!
Lovenox is intended for subcutaneous injection, so you really can inject anywhere you can pinch up skin. Have you tried your thigh or hip? Maybe that would be better.
Hey S! I no longer have to take them, but at the beginning of this pregnancy I had get heparin shots every 6 hrs. I understand what you're saying, they're truly the most painful injects I've ever had to do. Instead of injecting into the lower tummy area, my RE actually told me to do it in the insides of my underarm (the fatty area). I would push the plunger really quickly, and it seemed to burn just a little bit less. You have my email, I'm all ears if you'd like to talk

Someone mentioned that they were injecting their inner thigh on the High Risk board but that seems like it would be more painful to me? It's something that I will have to consider as I get closer to the end. Thanks for your input
