gas drops

this is my 2nd with gas issues :) lovely. I am FF but was BFing for a while with both. Either way, still has tons of gas. I use regular gas drops, but saw some postings about probiotics. Are they better?

Any other products you like better than the typical gas drops found in pharmacy?

She goes from 8 to between 1-3 without eating but wakes sometimes with gas, and definitely is uncomfortable at periods throughout the day.

 Thanks.

Re: gas drops

  • Both my kids did this too. With my first I never figured anything out. With my second gripe water has done wonders...he still has one time in the morning that he seems to struggle but i think i just need to adjust when I give it tohim.Hope this helps!

  • With Gripe Water, do you put it in LO's bottle or give it to them straight? I have been putting it in the bottles but wonder if the milk dilutes it too much?

  • We use gripe water also and whoever came up with it is a GENIUS!!!  It works like a champ, we use to give it to her directly from the dropper and now we put it directly in her bottle.  I do think it works best straight from the dropper but the last time I did that she choked a little from the dropper sucking in her breath and it scared me so that is why we just put it directly in the bottle

  • we used gripe water a bit, then tried Bio Gaia Probiotics as recommended by a couple of friends and they make a definite difference.  We take the drops in  his mornin bottle every day.  They take a few days to kick in but definitly make a difference and he seems much more comfortable and doesn't push and struggle as much!  He poops are a little loose but they have been ever since Day 1 so I'm not too worried about that.  The drops are purchased at the pharmacy, they keep them behind the counter because the need to be refridgerated.  Their expensive but worth it for us!  gl!

I give it directly...my LO is breastfeeding so I use a dropper.  He likes it so he starts sucking on the dropper.
